The thief has not been identified, but the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said he’s been charged with multiple crimes including theft by shoplifting, drugs charges, DUI, obstruction and driving on a suspended license. He’s was taken to Forsyth County Jail. His bond has been set for nearly $40,000. #pursuit
Gun sales in the San Gabriel Valley, a region east of Los Angeles, have soared in recent weeks among Asian Americans who fear being attacked over the outbreak of the coronavirus, according to reports. Attacks on Asian Americans have been on the rise amid the outbreak of COVID-19. Police are investigated the incident as a hate crime. An Asian woman was attacked at a New York City subway station. A 19-year-old pregnant woman from Guatemala died this week from injuries suffered when she fell more than 19 feet trying to climb the U.S. border wall near El Paso, Texas, last Saturday, U.S. and Guatemalan authorities said Thursday. Guatemala identified the woman as Mirian Stephany Girón Luna. Medical personnel tried to deliver her baby, but were unsuccessful, both governments said. The U.S. said Girón was eight months pregnant, while Guatemalan authorities said she was at seven months, Fox News reported. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) blamed Girón’s death on human smugglers who encouraged her to try to climb the wall. In a statement, Gloria Chavez, the chief for the Border Patrol’s El Paso sector, said the authorities would work with Mexico “to find those responsible for placing these lives in danger.”
