A Texas woman’s truck was engulfed in flames Sunday in Deer Park, but she credits some divine intervention – and a little help from the Deer Park Fire Department – for minimizing the damage preventing any injuries to herself and saving her Bible. Trina Carr said she was driving her truck when God told her to pull over because something was wrong. As she pulled over, she noticed the truck began to smoke and quickly exited the vehicle. The fire was quickly extinguished with aid from the Deer Park Fire Department, the Houston Chronicle reported. Once the fire was put out, a search of the truck revealed that the fire melted the dashboard, the engine compartment and passenger compartment. But the Bible and a notebook belonging to Carr were saved. ”Many thanks to my brothers In DPFD for extinguishing my truck. They arrived quickly and had it out in no time. Thanks be to God my wife was able to pull over and get out in time," Trina Carr’s husband, Mike, said in a Facebook post. ☺️
A Tennessee man is accused of sexually assaulting two women at a shelter for tornado victims in Nashville just days after the deadly storm ripped through communities and obliterated homes. Cory Sullivan, 45, tried to befriend the victims, who slept on cots next to his at the Centennial Sportsplex shelter, by buying them food, the women told police in an arrest affidavit. Sullivan later grabbed them both by the hair and forced them to swallow suboxone strips, which help people recover from opioid addictions, the affidavit said according to the Tennessean. He tried to kiss them on their necks and touch their backsides while the two women walked to a local pizzeria. Back at the shelter, one of the women accused Sullivan of kissing their necks and groping them while they were on their cots. At least one witness inside the shelter said they saw the unwanted sexual advances and that at least one woman told Sullivan to stop, the document said.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office. He was released on $3,000 bond a few hours later. Jones posted on his fake news website Infowars that the incident was a 'DWI dragnet' and he was only targeted because cops needed to up their arrest rates. The far-right conspiracy theorist and radio show host (right on radio show) claims he was under the legal alcohol limit. He first states he was 'cleared' before going on to say 'legal experts are confident the case will be quickly dropped'.

As many as '60 to 70 per cent' of Germans will be infected with the deadly #coronavirus, Chancellor Angela Merkel warned today, as the contagion threatened to rip through Europe. Addressing a parliamentary group meeting of her Christian Democratic Union party in Berlin today, Merkel said that 58 million Germans could contract the disease if it spiralled out of control, according to insiders who spoke to newspaper Bild. But Health Minister Jens Spahn pointed out during the meeting that 80 per cent of all infected patients would have almost no symptoms. The infection is now transmitting between humans in nearly 30 countries across Europe, the World Health Organization has warned today. Fears of the life-threatening infection have now engulfed the continent, which has recorded more than 17,000 cases and over 700 deaths in Europe alone.

Chilean authorities are searching for a gang of thieves who broke into Santiago International Airport on Monday afternoon and stole $14 million and 1 million euros that had been shipped there by Bank of America. Chile's investigative police said the armed robbers entered the airport terminal's warehouse in a vehicle that bore the DHL logo and completed the heist in just two minutes. A bystander who stood several yards away from the warehouse's entrance recorded the moment a male suspect shouted at workers to get 'on the ground, on the ground.' Several suspects later appeared to walk out of the warehouse before they boarded the fake DHL vehicle and a black pickup truck.
