Russian President Vladimir Putin today stressed that marriage should be solely a heterosexual union. 'A marriage is a union of a man and woman,' he said at a meeting with a Kremlin-appointed committee discussing new amendments to the Russian constitution. 'This is the right idea and it should be supported. We need to only think about how to formulate it and where,' he said after conservative lawmaker Olga Batalina said Russia's constitution should uphold 'traditional family values.'
Newly released dash board camera shows Grove City Police officer being body-slammed by a college football player during an arrest Monday. I understand the concept of keeping Americans safe in high crime areas especially, but it’s either shoot and have your life destroyed or don’t shoot and have your life taken. Plus you deal with this on the daily...
Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday gave his condolences to the family of Faye Marie Swetlik, the 6-year-old girl who was found dead three days after mysteriously vanishing in front of her South Carolina home. Pence delivered the remarks during an appearance at The Citadel, a military college in South Carolina. “[A]llow me to address an issue that I know is on the hearts of people all across South Carolina today. And as your vice president and as a father, let me say we were deeply saddened to receive word this afternoon that the remains of Faye Swetlik, a 6-year-old girl who went missing from her parents’ front yard just three days ago, have been found. We will continue to work closely with state and local authorities to hold any to account who are responsible for this heinous crime,” Pence said, adding: “But I would just urge everyone in South Carolina: Hug your kids today, and keep this little girl and her family and her community in your prayers.”

German police detained 12 men on Friday suspected of setting up a far-right organization with the goal of carrying out attacks against politicians, asylum seekers and Muslims, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (GBA) said. Prosecutors said four of the suspects had set up a “terrorist organization” in September 2019 and regularly met and contacted each other by phone and in online chart forums and chat groups, Reuters reported. They had no immediate plan to carry out an attack. The other eight men were detained on suspicion of supporting the organization with money and weapons, the GBA said. The suspects wanted their attacks to create havoc and an atmosphere of fear that resembles a civil war, it added.

Stuart Shippee, from Missouri, launched an imitation engagement ring more than 90,000ft into the atmosphere attached to a weather balloon to propose to his girlfriend Marie Lisman. The pair had planned to send a military challenge coin into the sky with some friends, but Mr Shippee swapped the 13th Bomb Squadron medallion for an imitation engagement ring moments before the balloon took flight. In footage from the engagement, the ring is seen soaring high enough to see the curvature of the Earth before the balloon pops, and the payload plummets to a cornfield near the Whiteman Air Force Base - where it is found by Ms Lisman.

This is the moment a BMW was launched through the air after a 'drunk' woman smashed into a roundabout in Long Beach and then 'got out like nothing happened.' Marisela Ovalle, 27, ripped across 4th Street and Daisy Avenue at 2am Thursday, smashing her 4 Series coupe into a boulder and sending the car flying down the road. The huge rock was also sent bounding down the residential street in the collision and crushed the rear bumper of a parked Chevrolet Camaro as well as damaging other cars. Fortunately nobody was injured in the horrific crash and witnesses described how Ovalle emerged from the wreckage, sat down on the road 'and she was fine.'
China has reported another sharp rise in the number of people infected with the killer #coronavirus, with the death toll now nearing 1,400. The National Health Commission said 121 more deaths were recorded yesterday, as well as 5,090 new confirmed cases. The number of reported cases has been rising more quickly after the hardest-hit province changed its method of counting them. There are now almost 64,000 confirmed cases in mainland China, of which 1,380 have died, according to the national body. Hubei province is now including cases based on a physician's diagnosis and before they have been confirmed by lab tests. The acceleration in the number of cases does not necessarily represent a sudden surge in new infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
