Take a good look at this photo. This photo was taken at a gay pride event in San Francisco. A police officer is taking time to interact with kids and give them stickers, trying to make a positive and important impact on the community he serves, and have fun doing it (note the Mardi Gras beads around his neck). I think you all can read the sign the person is holding who is standing next to them...
This is what police work looks like.
Well done, officer.

Left downplaying MS-13 threat, making America less safe
The man who allegedly opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, this past August, killing 22 people and injuring 24 others, was handed a 90-count indictment charging him with federal hate crimes. Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas, allegedly gunned down the busy store with a semi-automatic weapon on Aug. 3, 2019, where hundreds of shoppers and at least 100 employees were inside during the busy back-to-school shopping season. U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas John Bash told reporters Thursday that the hate crime charges were a testament to the Justice Department's commitment to tamp down the "resurgent threat of violence motivated by race, national origins and other categories." He added that the case was being treated as an act of domestic terrorism.

A Kansas man who led cops on a high-speed pursuit along the Chiefs' Super Bowl parade route said he had no idea he was in a car chase because he was too high to remember, according to authorities. Addae Doyle, 42, allegedly told officers that the last thing he remembered was getting high and that he didn't know he was in a police chase. 'His statement to us was: 'I remember getting high and I don't remember another thing',' Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) Chief Richard Smith said in a press conference. 'He has no idea of the car chase even taking place.'
Virginia advances gun control bills that ban sale of some semi-automatics, possession of high-capacity magazines, FOX NEWS reported. Despite overwhelming opposition from gun owners and gun rights groups, Virginia Democratic lawmakers on Friday advanced legislation that would ban the sale of some semiautomatic firearms as well as end the possession of high-capacity magazines. Gun supporters packed a state House committee room and shouted in protest when legislation to ban the sale of assault weapons like AR-15 style-rifles, prohibit the possession of silencers as well as magazines that hold more than 12 rounds, passed out of committee.

One of the two suspects who orchestrated a Colorado school shooting in May pleaded guilty to 17 felonies on Friday, including the charge of first-degree murder. Alec McKinney, 16, reached a plea deal with prosecutors following a ruling from a judge in December, that said he would be tried as an adult, Fox 31 reported. He originally faced 48 charges in connection with the crime. “Due to changes in Colorado law in 2016 by the state legislature, the mandatory minimum sentence for 16-year-old McKinney is life with possibility of parole after 40 years minus earned time. The maximum sentence under the plea agreement is life with the possibility of parole after 40 years minus earned time plus 407½ years in the Department of Corrections,” the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
