A fight over the teams facing off in Super Bowl LIV ended in a shooting in California that left one person injured, police said. The Fresno Police Department told FOX26 Fresno the incident happened shortly before noon Saturday after a homeless man on a bicycle approached a barbeque in the front yard of a home decorated with 49ers flags and other items. An argument soon began between the homeless man and another man in his 20s. As the argument escalated, police told FOX26 Fresno the homeless man pulled out a "makeshift weapon" from his backpack and shot the victim in the stomach. The shooter fled to a nearby homeless encampment, where he was captured by police and arrested. The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. Officials did not release details about his condition.
Police car bursts into flames in Ballyclare, UK ... but it's not what it seems. There were dramatic scenes in Ballyclare today when a PSNI car burst into flames outside the old police station on Ballynure Rd. But incredibly it was all for a good cause. The blaze was part of a series of scenes for the new BBC drama Bloodlands, starring our own Jimmy Nesbitt. Details of the new crime series were announced last November at the Belfast Media Festival. And Bloodlands is the first original crime series commission for Co Down writer Chris Brandon. Coleraine man Nesbitt said at the time: โWe have compelling scripts from a brilliant young writer who was raised in Co Down, which are very exciting and psychologically complex. I canโt wait.โ Thanks JackDawkins. ๐

Chicago police shot a man in the leg. About 8:30 p.m., on December 4, 2019 officers patrolling the 11th District tried to question a man in his 20s in the 3900 block of West Wilcox Street when he ran away and allegedly showed a handgun. The officer fired at the man, and he was hit in the leg, Deputy Chief Ernest Cato told reporters at the scene. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department. His condition was stabilized there, and police said he was expected the survive his wounds. One handgun was recovered from the scene, Cato said. #shooting
