Police continue to investigate after a mass shooting took place at a club about 11:30 p.m. Sunday night following the Chief’s victory over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship game. Two people were killed, one of whom was the shooter—and at least 15 people were injured. The shooter is identified as 29-year-old Jahron Swift of Kansas City. Cops say that an armed private security guard at the club shot and killed Swift just outside of the business, which is located in the 4800 block of Noland Road. “We know that there were multiple firearms involved, so we think the security guard’s actions definitely saved lives,” police Chief Richard Smith said. At least three of the 15 injured victims are in critical condition. Police have not yet interviewed all of the victims and do not yet know whether all were injured by gunfire. Police recovered multiple firearms at the scene. It appears the suspect and the security guard were the only ones who fired shots.

Emergency crews responded to Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park in Lake Forest, California, Monday afternoon for a reported mountain lion attack on a 3-year-old child. The child suffered injuries to the neck as a result of the attack, according to the Orange County Fire Authority who said the family of six was walking in the park with the 3-year-old in front of his father when the feline came out of nowhere and grabbed the child by the neck. The father threw a backpack at the mountain lion, at which point the animal dropped the child in lieu of the backpack and jumped up a tree, the Orange County Fire Authority said. The child was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition. The incident occurred at about 4:13 p.m. on Portola Parkway. The park was evacuated as park officials monitored the mountain lion in the tree. California Fish and Game officials responded to the scene. At about 5:30 p.m., officials on scene confirmed the mountain lion had been killed.
The California Highway Patrol said Monday that a driver intentionally rammed his vehicle into a Toyota Prius that was filled with teenagers, causing a fatal crash that killed three boys in Temescal Valley, FOX News reported. The crash was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, near the intersection of Temescal Canyon Road and Trilogy Parkway. Investigators determined that two vehicles were traveling southbound on Temescal Canyon when the driver of a white Infiniti, later identified as 42-year-old Anurag Chandra, of Corona, intentionally struck the Prius, causing it to slam into a tree, the CHP said. The crash left three teenage boys dead and three others injured. "It was an intentional act," CHP Lt. David Yokley told reporters at a news conference Monday. "Our investigation led us to believe Mr. Chandra intentionally rammed the Prius, causing the driver to lose control."
Gun rights activist Colion Noir told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Monday that gun control legislation like the bills currently under consideration in Virginia affects minorities the most. "The irony is, when they talk about gun control, where do you think they're going to implement these laws the most? They're going to implement them in the minority cities," Noir said. "So they like to bring up the idea and the issue of race and how all of these white supremacist gun owners are going to come and start shooting people. Yet the people most affected by these gun control laws are the very people that they're trying to manipulate to not exercise their rights." Noir was reacting to the massive gun-rights rally in Richmond, where thousands of people from across the country protested a push by Democrats in the commonwealth to pass more comprehensive gun control laws.
