A spike in car burglaries led Los Angeles police to a troubling discovery โ€” gang members from Northern California were connected with recent Southern California break-ins. In video of a high-speed chase, drivers of a dark vehicle could be seen swerving through traffic and hitting other vehicles to evade police. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department said the men were members of a burglary crew from Oakland. And while those men were arrested and charged, police said other burglary crews from the Bay Area were lining up to take their place. โ€œAll the reasons that make this area appealing to tourists, make it appealing to suspects as well,โ€ Det. Brent Hopkins, of the #LAPD, said. โ€œItโ€™s a target-rich environment.โ€ The thieves were said to be targeting rental cars, looking for vehicles with out-of-state plates and rental bar codes in the window, signaling their might be luggage inside.๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

(WARNING: 21+) A report from the stateโ€™s attorney has concluded that the deadly use of force from an officer-involved shooting that happened last July in Hartford was justified. The shooting happened on July 26 on an on-ramp leading to I-84. The Hartford Police Crimes Unit was on a routine patrol and tried to stop a car in the area of Park Terrace, during a criminal investigation. The driver of the car, later identified as 41-year-old Alphonso Zaporta of Windsor, fled from officers, heading toward the I-84 on-ramp from Capitol Avenue. Police said the car came to a stop due to ongoing construction traffic, as well as a stop stick deployment. Thatโ€™s when officers approached the car. Police said Zaporta got out of the car, violently attacked them, and gained control of an officerโ€™s gun. Thatโ€™s when Zaporta was shot and killed. ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #shooting
