Paris police skirmished with yellow vest activists today for the 56th weekend in a row while highway blockades and train strikes disrupted weekend travel around the country. The demonstrations have been held to protest the government's overhaul of France's national retirement system. A few thousand yellow vest protesters marched from the Finance Ministry complex on the Seine River through southeast Paris, pushing their year-old demands for economic justice - and adding the retirement reform to their list of grievances. Most marchers were peaceful but some threw projectiles or pushed riot officers, prompting repeated bursts of tear gas from police. 🇫🇷

A Tesla on autopilot crashed into a Connecticut State Police cruiser before rear-ending a disabled car while the suspected driver was 'checking on his dog in the back seat.' The Connecticut State Police said in a press release that two troopers dispatched to Interstate 95 in Norwalk to help a disabled vehicle that was stuck in the center lane. They maintain that both police cruisers had their emergency lights activated and an additional flare pattern behind the vehicles. While waiting for a tow truck to remove the disabled vehicle, a 2018 Tesla Model 3 was driving northbound slammed into one of the police cruisers and then collided with the disabled car. The Tesla driver continued to slowly travel down the highway for several hundred feet before being stopped by the second state trooper at the scene. When confronted by authorities, the owner said he had his vehicle on 'autopilot' and was attending to his pet in the backseat at the time.
