Kiefer Police Chief Johnny O'Mara shared a photo of the insulting cup handed to one of his officers, who purchased the beverages on Thursday morning in Glenpool, just south of Tulsa, as a kind gesture for the dispatchers on duty. “What irks me is the absolute and total disrespect for a police officer who, instead of being home with family and enjoying a meal and a football game, is patrolling his little town,” O'Mara wrote in a Facebook post that quickly went viral. The barista has been suspended "pending the outcome of our investigation," Starbucks told FOX 25 Thursday night. The police chief said that when he called the coffee chain, they offered to "replace the coffee with a correct label," but he said that given Starbucks' track record of other anti-police incidents, he wasn't buying it.

An evacuation order was lifted Friday for around 50,000 residents on the Texas Gulf Coast after officials determined a chemical plant fire that erupted after two explosions two days earlier was under finally control, FOX News reports. “We are in a position to say it’s contained. We feel comfortable with the efforts that have been made by our firefighters,” Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick said at a news conference in Port Neches, about 80 miles east of Houston. Several small fires were still going inside the TPC Group facility, which makes chemical and petroleum-based products. It was not clear when those would be extinguished.🔥

A truck driver accused in the deaths of 39 migrants has pleaded guilty to plotting to assist illegal immigration, USA Today reports. Maurice Robinson, 25, who was allegedly part of a global smuggling ring, is charged with the manslaughter of a group of men, women and children found dead in a refrigerated trailer outside London last month. Robinson, who is known as Mo, appeared at the Old Bailey, London’s Central Criminal Court, via video link from Belmarsh prison for a plea hearing. The charge states that he plotted with others to do "an act or series of acts which facilitated the commission of a breach of immigration law by various persons."

An underage suspect was arrested Friday evening in the alleged stabbings of three minor victims along the Sioux Falls Bike Trail in South Dakota, according to a report. The victims were all taken to a hospital in unknown condition, The Argus Leader reported. The suspect hasn't been identified because they're a minor. Police said they would release more information on Monday, according to The Argus Leader.

A powerful storm making its way from California could cause major disruptions for millions of travelers across the country hoping to get home after the Thanksgiving weekend. The National Weather Service said travel could be impossible in some parts of the country as ice or flash flooding continues to cover swaths of the country. The storm was expected to head east throughout the weekend into the Plains on Friday, the Midwest by Saturday and Northeast on Sunday. Sunday will be particularly disruptive as millions of holiday travelers are expected to head home. Airlines for America, the airline trade industry's trade group, expects 31.1 million passengers to take to the skies Sunday. Multiple airlines said they were operating on Friday as usual. Lawmakers in a Chicago suburb earlier this week approved using taxes from recreational marijuana sales to establish a local reparations program, reported FOX News. The money will go toward job training and other benefits for Evanston's black population, the Pioneer Press reported. “We can implement funding to directly invest in black Evanston,” said Ald. Robin Rue Simmons, who proposed the reparations bill. Simmons said the source of the funds was especially appropriate, citing the "war on drugs" that has led to increased incarceration rates among African-Americans, particularly for marijuana-related offenses.

Islamic State said the London Bridge attack on Friday was carried out by one of its fighters, the group’s Amaq news agency reported on Saturday. The group did not provide any evidence.
