Mexican drug cartel massacre victims were kin to an anti-crime activist killed 10 years ago. Ten years ago, a relative of the Americans slaughtered in Monday’s Mexican drug cartel massacre was murdered in a neighboring state, allegedly by an individual considered…
Hundreds of mourners from the U.S. reportedly spent the night in a remote farming community in northern Mexico ahead of Thursday’s scheduled funerals for some of the victims of a horrible massacre of nine American women and children. Armed Mexican military personnel, traveling in jeeps, escorted caravans of visitors as they arrived in La Mora, Sonora, from Utah and from Tucson, Ariz., where many had gone to visit the surviving children in a hospital, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. “They won’t ever recover from something as traumatizing as this,” Rebecca Langford, a sister-in-law to victim Dawna Langford, told the newspaper. Dawna Langford’s two sons also were slain in the Monday attack. 😢
An elderly man fell to his death after slipping down a “lava tube” in his yard in Hawaii, local police said Wednesday. Authorities responded to man’s house in Hilo on Monday morning after an acquaintance of the man said he had not been heard from in several days, Hawaii police said. Investigators determined he had fallen through a soft area of ground in his yard, then plummeted down a lava tube, authorities said. Lava tubes are large conduits beneath the ground that are formed by flowing lava. When they’re extinct, the tubes do not have lava in them, but form large tunnels beneath the earth’s surface. Fire department crews pulled the man’s body from about 22 feet beneath the ground, police said. ☠️👮🏻‍♂️

Hong Kong Police Seeks to Hack Telegram, Key Tool in Protests, the Epoch Times reports. The Hong Kong Police Force has been trying to find out the identities of the people running those two Telegram accounts, including by seeking help from cyber experts outside Hong Kong. One cyber expert, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal, said that over the past few months, he was repeatedly approached by senior inspectors to use “any means necessary” to uncover their identities. In one phone call from a senior inspector, the officer asked the source whether it was possible to break Telegram’s encryption protocol to find out who the administrators behind “dadfindboy” and “tanakayotsuba” were, and where they live, with the intention of arresting them at their homes, the source said. “They’re very desperate,” he said, adding that the police force was seeking “demigod” level access to Telegram.

😳 #WTF?
CBS News has fired the employee who allegedly accessed the hot mic audio of Amy Robach expressing her frustrations over ABC's refusal to air a Jeffrey Epstein expose which featured an interview with his former sex slave Virginia Roberts. Yashar Ali reported on Wednesday that ABC had identified the individual who accessed the video, while noting that the person was no longer an employee of the network. ABC executives then decided to inform their counterparts at CBS that the person who was responsible for the leak was now working for their news division, according to Ali. Then, on Thursday morning, Ali reported that CBS News had fired the employee. #facepalm

Hundreds of mourners embraced in grief under white tents erected in the La Mora community in Mexico's Sonora state on Thursday to mourn the nine American women and children gunned down in the grisly attack earlier this week. Relatives have carried the handmade pine coffins holding the remains of one mother and her two children into their breakaway Mormon community in Mexico as the first funerals were held for the family slaughtered in a drug cartel ambush. Male family members carried in the remains of Dawna Ray Langford, 43, and her sons Trevor, 11, and Rogan, 3, before they were buried at the community's small cemetery. Members of the extended community had built the coffins themselves and used shovels to dig a mass grave for the three in the rocky soil of La Mora's small cemetery. 🗿
Thousands of Russian troops in World War II-era uniforms marched across Moscow's Red Square in a reconstruction of a wartime parade on Thursday. The 1941 October Revolution Parade has become a symbol of Soviet valor and tenacity in the face of overwhelming odds. Thursday's re-enactment of the military event marks the 78th anniversary of march on the 7 November 1941.
