As you might expect from LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, a calm, professional response to the political and misinformed rhetoric being thrown at him by Mayoral candidate Raman. As the legendary Sergeant Joe Friday would say, “Just the facts.”
Chief McDonnell with his calm recitation of the ‘facts’ laid out Raman and dropped the mic on her false assertions and allegations. Facts count—politically biased allegations and ignorance don't.

The Lucas County Ohio Sheriff’s Office sadly announced the death of Deputy Sheriff Kris “Zeus” Matuszewski.
"Kris began his career with the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office on July 12, 1999, as a Correction Officer. In August 2007, he completed the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) and became a sworn Deputy. Throughout his career, he served as a School Resource Officer at Whitmer High School and the Alternate Learning Center before being promoted to Sergeant in 2014.
Zeus was known for his fairness, honesty, and genuine respect for those he supervised. He believed leadership was about more than rank. It was about listening, building trust, and treating people with dignity. Those who worked alongside him will remember not only the leader he was, but also the friend who shared their challenges, accomplishments, and laughter."
Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.🙏🏻

🚨 A MESSAGE FROM CHIEF BRICE CURRENT
Durango, we still have neighbors stranded, families displaced, and emergency crews working to reach those affected by last night's flooding
Right now, we need everyone to work together
⚠️ The Animas River is CLOSED to recreation. Dangerous currents, debris, and potential sewage contamination make entering the water extremely hazardous
🚧 All pedestrian bridges over the Animas River and the Animas River Trail remain CLOSED
Please don't create another emergency when our responders are already stretched thin
Instead, check on your neighbors when it's safe. Look out for one another
Chief Current also wants to recognize something remarkable: Durango showed up for Durango last night. Neighbors opened their doors, offered shelter, and helped people get through a difficult night
That's the community we know and love.
Let's keep that going. Stay safe, stay out of the river, and take care of each other.
We'll continue sharing updates as conditions change.
