The Bend, Oregon, community held a candlelight vigil for the victims of the Silver Rail Elementary School shooting on Thursday.

A 5, 8 and 11-year-old were killed, along with one teacher, authorities said in a press conference. Two other victims, a 7-year-old and a 54-year-old teacher were taken to a hospital with injuries.

Praying for the two California Highway Patrol officers who were seriously injured in the line of duty earlier this week.🙏🏻

Two Solano CHP officers were seriously injured when a Tesla struck their patrol vehicle on I-80 eastbound, despite flares, cones, and flashing emergency lights.

The driver claimed he was asleep while using driver-assistance technology.

Drivers must remain alert and in control.

UPDATE: Firefighters are gaining the upper hand on the Bryson Fire in Malibu, with hand crews, dozers and helicopters making progress against the flames.

The fire is now at 200 acres. Evacuation orders and warnings remain in place.  Santa Ana wind/fire conditions expected through Saturday night.

A bear made an unexpected visit to a library in Mammoth Lakes on Wednesday morning, wandering through the building before it opened to the public 🐻

A major update this morning on the surviving Philadelphia Police officer shot on Saturday. CBS Philadelphia has learned through police sources that Officer Hector Rodriguez is now "up and walking." Rodriguez was shot 12 times near 52nd and Arch streets.

Rodriguez, 33, a father of five, was shot 12 times on the 100 block of North 52nd Street, according to Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.

His partner, Officer Shane Seiber, was killed.

Eric Lewis has been arrested and charged in the shooting. Lewis was acquitted in a prior murder case due to a "deeply troubled investigation" that involved another officer's romantic relationship, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said earlier this week.

NEW: Four correctional officers were injured Thursday night when an inmate armed with two improvised weapons attempted to leave his cell at the California Health Care Facility in Stockton, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
The officers were attempting to enter the cell at 9:36 p.m. to conduct a wellness check on an unresponsive inmate when Joadanus Olivas, 39, tried to leave the cell with the weapons. Corrections officials said the officers forced Olivas back into his cell and restrained him.
All four officers were injured, according to the department. They were treated at an outside medical facility and released. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻
