NEW: CBS News Miami has exclusively obtained body camera video showing a Homestead police officer credited with saving a 12-year-old boy with autism from drowning in a pond behind his home.

On Aug. 2, Officer Carston Addison responded to a call regarding a juvenile in the middle of a lake. Upon arrival, Addison quickly recognized the child was in distress, removed his gear, and jumped into the water to bring the boy safely to shore.

🐾VIDEOUPDATE ON K9 BRUNO: Park City K-9 Bruno jumps from overpass, handler rushes to comfort him on I-80.
Park City Police have released video of the September 15 incident that left K-9 Bruno seriously injured.
The video shows Bruno jumping from an overpass near the U.S. 40/I-80 interchange. His handler, Officer Henderson, races to his side, then lies down in the middle of I-80 to comfort his injured partner until medical help arrives.
The department conducted an internal review and requested an independent review by Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
POST determined the officer deployed Bruno in accordance with standard K-9 tactics.
“Bruno is more than a police K-9. He's a partner, a companion, and part of our police family,” said Police Chief Wade Carpenter.

NEW: San Francisco’s robot fight club is getting increasingly unhinged.

Robot Entertainment Kombat (REK) has transformed a former mattress showroom on Van Ness Avenue into a permanent arena for humanoid robot cage fights. Founded in 2025 by VR entrepreneur Cix Liv, REK is part of a growing Bay Area robot combat scene, where Chinese-made humanoid robots are modified for battle.

The company has already run into trouble with California regulators. In September, a human-versus-robot cage match earned REK a cease-and-desist notice from the California State Athletic Commission over unlicensed combat. Liv argues that the rules don’t apply to robots.

Now, with plans for regular fight nights and an engineer dreaming up robots equipped with hydraulic claws and spinning saws, SF’s latest tech spectacle could get even wilder.
