Missouri police officers pooled their money together and bought costumes for children in need on Tuesday after finding out some students at a local elementary school couldn’t afford to get one for the school’s Halloween party. While working their midnight shift, several Wentzville police officers became aware that there was a need for costumes at Heritage Elementary School, department spokesman Jacob Schmidt told Fox News. Schmidt said Sgt. Marc White came across two Facebook posts from Heritage teachers stating that there were several students who weren’t going to be able to dress up for their class party on Thursday. In the post, the teachers asked for donations of gently-used or new costumes so that the children would be able to dress up and wouldn’t feel excluded. 🎃 happy #Halloween

A 4-year-old Michigan boy was mauled to death by a 60-pound pit bull Tuesday evening, according to local police. Officers responded to a 911 call from a home in Hazel Park, about 10 miles north of Detroit, at around 7 p.m., Fox 2 reported. Inside, they saw the animal attacking the boy, the report said. The officers subdued the dog with Tasers in order to free the boy, who had suffered severe wounds on his body and neck. The dog had also injured the boy’s mother, but her injuries were not as severe. The boy was rushed to an area hospital where he died, Fox 2 reported. The dog was reportedly being fostered by the family. It was taken to a veterinarian where it was euthanized. It was unclear what had led to the attack, police said. An investigation is ongoing. 👮🏻‍♂️

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) said on Thursday it had frozen properties worth $11.9 million, including a “supersized mansion” as part of an investigation into money laundering by Chinese nationals, Reuters reports. The investigation - titled Operation Gethen - followed request from the Chinese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to identify two Chinese nationals suspected of laundering proceeds of crime in Australia, the AFP said in a statement. Chinese authorities believe the money was raised in China through real estate and bank loan fraud, the AFP said, without identifying the individuals.👮🏻‍♂️

The body camera footage is from the February arrest of then 28-year-old Lucas Ellerman. The arrest involved the use of a K9 in the enclosed cab of a pickup truck, according to documents. Officers said they did not know Ellerman was hiding in the back seat, but he then jumped into the front seat. Ellerman fled and hit several parked cars before ending up in a snowbank. Officers used their vehicles to keep Ellerman's pinned into the snowbank.
