CHINESE SPY ARREST: A California realtor is now being accused of accused of spying on the family of Taiwan’s president who lives in the U.S.

She's accused of sending photos, videos and license plate information to Chinese officials, and was arrested before boarding a flight to Shanghai.

NEW: A Miami police officer was taken to a hospital after being involved in a traffic crash Sunday night while on the way to work, according to police.

The crash happened around 8:35 p.m. near Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 135th Street in Opa-locka. The officer was driving a marked police vehicle at the time.

According to police, both the officer and the other driver were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

On October 5, 2016, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Owen was killed in the line of duty while responding to a burglary in progress in Lancaster.

Sergeant Owen, 53, was answering a report of a break-in when he confronted the suspect, Trenton Lovell. During the confrontation, Lovell shot the veteran sergeant in the head before standing over him and firing additional fatal shots. Despite the efforts of fellow deputies and medical personnel, Sergeant Owen succumbed to his wounds later that evening.

Sergeant Owen dedicated his life to serving his community and protecting others. In addition to his assignment at Lancaster Station, he served with the Sheriff’s Mounted Enforcement Detail.

Today, we remember Sergeant Owen for his courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting his community. We also remember his family, friends, and fellow deputies who continue to honor his memory.

Rest in peace, Sergeant Steve Owen. Your service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten. 🖤💙

BREAKING: The Polk County Sheriff's Office announced that two people have died following a multi vehicle crash involving a bus in Winter Haven earlier this morning.

Authorities said 5 to 7 people have been trauma alerted, with more than 40 people also injured. One of the fatalities was a 10th-grade female student. The other fatality was the driver of a Jeep who was hit by the vehicle that crossed the center line.

The Pennsylvania Senate has approved a bill to rename I-81 Exit 119 in Schuylkill County in honor of fallen Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr. 🇺🇸💙

Trooper Pahira was killed in the line of duty by illegal alien on July 1 while conducting a commercial vehicle inspection along I-81.

If approved by the Pennsylvania House, the interchange would officially become the PSP Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr. Memorial Interchange — creating a permanent memorial along the very highway where he served.

It’s more than a new name on an exit sign. It would serve as a lasting reminder of a Pennsylvania State Police trooper who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others.

NEW: Russian authorities have quarantined about two dozen people and are monitoring hundreds more after a lab worker at a Siberian plague research institute died from a mysterious illness.

The cause of death has not been confirmed, and testing is underway.

Gillian Turner reports the State Department is in direct contact with Russia as officials seek more information. The World Health Organization says the risk to the general public is low, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the U.S. is monitoring the situation closely.

NEW: Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News Channel as an on-air contributor after leaving the White House briefing room.

The former White House press secretary will provide commentary across the Fox News lineup beginning Nov. 1.

"Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape," FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said, adding that Leavitt will bring "authentic and sharp insight" across the network's platforms.

Leavitt says she's ready for the next chapter: "I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House press secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms."

Leavitt stepped down from the White House in August after making history as the youngest press secretary, saying she wanted to devote more time to her two young children.
