ICYMI: A North Carolina felon with 14 prior arrests and 62 new charges is accused of trying to sh*t a Charlotte officer in the head.

Dionte Antonio McCracking, 28, is charged with attempted m*rder of a law enforcement officer after the Sept. 9 fight on Enderly Road. The warrant says he aimed at the officer’s head during a tackle, then sh*t him in the right shoulder while they fought over the gun.

The officer did not return fire. Police said the 25-year-old is stable and expected to recover. CMPD has not released his name.

McCracking ran, then barricaded himself until SWAT took him that afternoon. Court files already listed first-degree arson and gun cases dating to 2013.

State records show he went to prison in July 2023 on firearm charges and walked out in June 2024 on probation slated through March 2025. CMPD later tied him and his brother Jatarius, 27, to 190 charges across jurisdictions since July 27.

NEW: On Sept. 11, ICE Boston arrested Satvir Singh, an illegal alien from India, during targeted operations at a commercial vehicle inspection station in Hillsborough, NH.

Singh was employed as a truck driver conducting interstate commerce with a residence in New Jersey.

NEW: 7 people shot, 1 fatally, near Humboldt Park alley; injured woman crashes into CTA bus.

A group of suspects pulled up to a Northwest Side alley and opened fire, killing one person and injuring six others, including a driver who crashed into a CTA bus on Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.

According to police, the shooting happened around 12:17 p.m. in the 700 block of North Christiana Avenue. Investigators said six people were standing near an alley when two vehicles approached and multiple armed offenders got out and opened fire.

UPDATE: Phoenix police are investigating after a statue Charlie Kirk was vandalized with red paint outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters, Heidi Hatch reports.

Police responded Sunday morning after the newly unveiled statue and a nearby memorial were found defaced. No suspect has been publicly identified.

“This isn’t the country we want to live in. Arizona is not Gotham,” Turning Point Action COO Tyler Bowyer wrote on social media.

Turning Point USA worked to restore the statue Sunday and replace the damaged signs. The statue was unveiled Thursday, one year after Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University.

NEW: A Crosby man punched a Brainerd police officer in the face, tried to grab the officer’s gun and later knocked another officer unconscious with a kick to the head during a midday confrontation at Bane Park, Minnesota.

Felo Pierre Simenstad, 19, got off the bike and punched the officer in the face, knocking him to the ground, then continued throwing punches. The complaint states Simenstad grabbed the officer’s holstered handgun with both hands and tried to open the retention hood.

Both eventually got to their feet, and the officer deployed his taser into Simenstad’s back, but Simenstad managed to run into the woods as the officer was unable to chase him due to an ankle injury.

He then violently kicked another officer in the face, causing the officer to lose consciousness and collapse.

HORRIFIC: Newly released bodycam shows Georgia police Sgt. Chris Fisher arresting the man authorities say would shoot and kill him just five days later.

Jimmy Lee Steverson, 23, was restrained and tased after fighting with officers during the Aug. 27 arrest. Police found approximately 34.6 grams of marijuana and three rifles inside his truck. He was charged and released on a $10,000 bond.

Five days later, authorities say Steverson pulled alongside Fisher’s patrol car and opened fire, killing the 36-year-old officer.

Steverson later died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after deputies stopped his vehicle in South Carolina.

Thai is charged with offenses including Conspiracy to Commit Health Care Fraud and Conspiracy to Defraud the United States, among others.

NEW: A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith.

The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families.

Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her.

A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29.

WATCH: Dramatic footage shows a Florida DUI suspect carrying his two young children into a gator-infested swamp while trying to escape the police.

Lakeland Police Officers launched a drone to track the man after he crashed his vehicle and fled the scene, leaving behind two empty child car seats.

Police ultimately rescued both children, ages 2 years and 10 months, and say the father admitted he was intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. He now faces 11 charges, including two counts of negligent child abuse with great bodily harm.

LATEST: Flash flooding brought on by heavy rains prompted road closures, water rescues and commuter rail problems across the tristate area Sunday.

The National Weather Service said the hardest-hit areas appeared to be northern New Jersey, parts of New York’s Westchester County and a swath of coastal Connecticut along Interstate 95. The service issued flash flood warnings across the region for much of the morning Sunday as rain fell at a rate of 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 centimeters) an hour in places.

Metro-North and Amtrak said their rail lines to New Haven, which serve Norwalk, Bridgeport and other major Connecticut communities, were experiencing delays and cancellations due to flooding impacts.

Tweed New Haven Airport also closed its departures terminal due to local flash flooding. Airport officials in a Facebook post said travelers with flights departing Sunday should not come until further notice.
