This is what neighbors are dealing with at Hoover St. & 57th St. A neighbor sent us this message:

“Hi SPofLA, I forgot to tell You that this happened on Sunday. The girl I live with said that about 10 police cars and firefighters showed up to bring this man down. I think he’s the same person who was trying to pull down the little tree.”

This building has been abandoned, and people have been living inside it without authorization. The property has become filled with trash and has serious sanitation issues, including cockroaches and rats, creating a difficult situation for the surrounding community.

The neighbors are exhausted and are asking the authorities to take action and find a long-term solution. Everyone deserves to feel safe and have a clean neighborhood.

Florida deputies say they removed 80 cats and 12 dogs from a postal worker’s home after finding the animals living in extreme heat and dangerous conditions.

Investigators are now working to determine whether some of the cats were pets reported missing near the woman’s mail route.

The Cost of Criminal Justice Reform 7/25/26

According to authorities, Darius Ahmadd Olson-Baker, a man with a long history of residential burglaries and a recent firearm conviction, was released from prison on supervised release on July 7. Just ten days later, prosecutors allege he committed an armed home invasion, attempted to rape a woman, and assaulted her when she resisted.

Five days after that, they allege he entered another home with a firearm and sexually assaulted another victim.
