The Lineage Fire in Boyle Heights has cost LA taxpayers so far $3 Million. This is JUST for LAFD costs from June 17-21.
According to Lineage to CBS, Lineage is a tenant of the building owned by Chill Build LLC & the solar array on the building is ultimately owned by Altus Power.
Now do the 259 homeless encampment fires that occurred during that same timespan, and continue, unabated, all night, every single night, in perpetuity. How much are they costing taxpayers? Notice the times of these fires? How many FFs are we losing because they can never sleep? π·Spencer Pratt

On his 42nd birthday, Reserve Deputy Sheriff Lloyd Constantine of the West Hollywood Station was tragically killed when a drunk driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard and slammed into the patrol vehicle in which he was riding. The collision left Deputy Claude Rosenthal, who was driving the vehicle, with minor injuries. The driver responsible for the crash, 21-year-old Craig Millar, was arrested and booked on charges of driving under the influence and manslaughter.
Reserve Deputy Constantine was widely regarded as one of the most dedicated reserve deputies in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. During his seven years of service, he devoted much of his personal time to law enforcement, reportedly contributing more than 1,000 volunteer hours each yearβthe equivalent of approximately 25 full work weeks. His commitment was driven not by compensation, but by a genuine desire to serve, earning only the symbolic annual salary of one dollar.
Outside of his reserve duties, Constantine worked as a film scenic artist and was also an accomplished painter of abstract art. His dedication to both his profession and his community left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Deputy Constantine was survived by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Another tax hike could be on the horizon for Los Angeles. The LA City Council voted 14-0 to place a measure on the November ballot that would raise the local sales tax to 10.25%.
The Los Angeles City Council voted 14-0 to put the measure on the November ballot. Traci Park was absent during the vote.
The city's current sales tax is 9.75%. If passed, the half-cent increase would put it at 10.25%.
"This ballot measure will save lives. Period," said Doug Coates, the President of United Firefighters of LA City Local 112, the union representing LAFD firefighters. "The LAFD is nearly half the size it should be to protect our nearly 4 million people. In 1965, we had 3,379 firefighters. Today, we have 3,387."
If passed, the measure would generate $345 million in its first year. It would allow the fire department to hire 4,000 additional firefighters and paramedics, build 62 new fire stations, and purchase more engines and ambulances.
"We need twice as many paramedics and firefighters and hundreds of additional trucks, engines and ambulances," said Richard Ramirez, vice president of UFLAC Local 112.
Firefighters said the fire department is desperate for more funding, noting that their response rate to emergencies is nearly double the national recommendation of four minutes.
Critics, like the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, say the tax rate is already too high and hits low-income residents the hardest.π·FOXLA

President Trump: America 'Will Never Be a Communist Country'.
President Donald J. Trump condemned communism in multiple Truth Social posts, warning that leftist candidates in Democrat-run states pose a threat to American values. He asserted that the U.S. will never become a communist country and emphasized the importance of preserving free enterprise and constitutional governance. His anti-communist rhetoric, a long-standing theme in his political career, resonates with voters from countries that experienced communist regimes.

Sgt. Erik Duran dedicated 15 years of his life to the NYPD.
He was just convicted of manslaughter for trying to stop a fleeing criminal with non-lethal force.
He earned dozens of commendations.
He helped take illegal guns off the streets.
He put his life on the line to protect his community.
Now he's fighting for his own freedom.
All because of a split-second decision he made during a drug bust in the Bronx.
An undercover officer had just purchased narcotics from a suspect. As officers moved in to make the arrest, the suspect jumped on a motorized scooter. Duran had only moments to react. He didn't reach for his firearm. He didn't use deadly force.
Instead, he grabbed a nearby cooler and threw it into the suspect's path in an attempt to stop the escape.
The suspect crashed and later died from his injuries.
Today, Sgt. Duran has been convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to prison.
Now he is fighting to clear his name through the appeals process. We are standing with Sgt. Duran and helping fund his appealβbut legal battles like this are incredibly expensive.
And while Erik fights for his freedom, his wife and children are left carrying the burden alongside him.
We're asking for your help today. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to help fund Sgt. Duran's appeal and support the work of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund.
