Teen Takeover Shooting Clearwater Florida on May 31, 2026, a 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded during a chaotic "teen takeover" event.

The shooting took place around 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Coronado Drive, near Pier 60 and the Wyndham Grand Resort, following a fight that erupted among the massive crowd of teenagers.

A 17-year-old male suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the stomach area and was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.

Clearwater Deputy Police Chief Michael Walek issued a strict warning following the event, emphasizing that the city will not tolerate illegal social media beach takeovers and that future attempts will result in immediate arrests.

DEVELOPING: RCMP responding to active shooter at Pelican Narrows health clinic, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The Saskatchewan RCMP has issued a dangerous person alert for an active shooter at the health clinic in Pelican Narrows.

RCMP officers are responding. They believe the suspect is a man wearing all black clothing with a face covering, according to an update issued at 3:16 p.m. on Monday. The suspect is on foot, but the RCMP do not know which direction he is heading.

Residents in the community are urged to find a safe location and lock the doors. Those who are not in Pelican Narrows are urged to stay away from the community.
The RCMP said the situation is “rapidly unfolding” and they will provide more updates as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Shortly before 2:00 p.m. June 1, 2026, Pelican Narrows RCMP responded to a report of a shooting near the local health clinic Pelican Narrows. The incident did not occur at the clinic as initially reported.

Two people were located injured. One person is confirmed deceased and one person is seriously injured. We are not providing more identification details about these two individuals at this time. No other injuries have been reported to police in relation to this incident.

Saskatchewan RCMP arrested a suspect at a residence in Pelican Narrows at approximately 7:07 p.m. The dangerous person alert issued by the Saskatchewan RCMP for Pelican Narrows and surrounding area has been cancelled.

Investigators thank the public for their assistance. The investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

EVOC stands for Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

A Sheriff’s Office Marine Deputy and U.S. Customs Border Protection Agent were able to stop a runaway vessel on May 31, 2026, off Islamorada, Florida after its occupants were ejected unharmed — the second such incident to occur in Monroe County in less than a month.

Multiple juveniles were ejected from a flats-style boat at approximately 1 p.m. in waters off Mile Marker 89. A good Samaritan picked up the juveniles. None were hurt; however, the unmanned vessel was traveling at approximately 35 mph in a congested area on a busy afternoon. Sheriff’s Office Marine Deputy Nelson Sanchez, a CBP vessel, and a TowBoatUS vessel responded.

An entangling device slowed the boat, but not enough to stop it. Deputy Sanchez was able to approach the runaway vessel and match its speed and course while getting close enough for a CBP agent (who boarded the Sheriff’s Office boat) to reach its controls and stop it with a long boat hook.

The incident came after a separate, but similar incident on May 15, 2026, in which two subjects were ejected from a flats boat near Mile Marker 73. Those subjects were also picked up by a good Samaritan unharmed.

The Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and TowBoatUS responded to that incident and stopped the vessel by using an entangling device.

“The summer boating season is here,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “Now is the time to revisit safety procedures and remind yourself of marine laws and regulations. I want to commend Deputy Nelson Sanchez and our law enforcement partners who responded to these incidents. They could have ended very differently.”
