NEW: Four GOP Senators, Mike Lee, John Cornyn, Sen. Rick Scott, & Bill Cassidy, have penned a letter to DHS Secretary Mullin, urging him to close a Biden era βbirth tourismβ loophole that allows Chinese nationals to visit the Northern Mariana Islands for 14 days without a visa, which they say is being exploited by the Chinese due to birthright citizenship.

On behalf of officers everywhere, THANK YOU Rep. Glorioso! π«‘
This is the WORST part of working protests. If a person's 1A expression involves something physically harmful - like blasting a 120 dB air horn right next to your ear - thatβs not protected expression. That's assault.
GIST: "In Louisiana, it could soon be a crime to direct loud, harmful sounds at people, after the state House advanced a bill that would add that behavior to the definition of battery.
House Bill 132 by state Rep. Brian Glorioso, R-Slidell, would expand the battery statute to include βthe intentional directing of sound at another, in close proximity to another's ear or headβ a crime, if whoever created the noise could βforesee that the conduct would cause physical pain, hearing impairment or bodily injury.β
FACTS:
- A typical handheld air horn youβd buy at a store is extremely loudβusually in the range of about 110 to 130 decibels (dB).
- A blast around 129 dB can cause immediate hearing damage at close range
- A typical handheld megaphone is usually in the range of 90 to 120 decibels (dB)
- Sustained noise of 90+dB (over 30 minutes) can cause damage (ask your smartwatch)
Some (not all) protesters exploit this.
Officers are not punching bags.
This is why noise ordinances exist in the first place.
π« For 30 years, the NOPJF has worked to create a safer New Orleans by helping to train, retain, and sustain local law enforcement - including advanced detective training, Officer Assistance Program support, and Digital Forensics hardware.

Huge legal victory this morning in the Ninth Circuit, where the court permanently enjoined Californiaβs unconstitutional mask law targeting federal agents.
βWe conclude that Β§ 10 of the No Vigilantes Act attempts to directly regulate the United States in its performance of governmental functions. The Supremacy Clause forbids the State from enforcing such legislation. The United States is therefore likely to succeed on the merits of its Supremacy Clause claim, and the other preliminary injunction factors also weigh in its favor. Thus, we grant the motion for an injunction pending appeal.β
