A U.S. citizen has been arrested for allegedly spying for the People's Republic of China, the Justice Department and FBI announced Monday. Xuehua "Edward" Peng was taken into custody on Friday and charged with acting as an illegal agent of a foreign government, according to a criminal complaint, CBS NEWS reports. "The charges announced today specifically regard the use of an American citizen to remove classified national security information from the United States to the People's Republic of China," U.S. Attorney David L. Anderson said during a Monday press conference. "An American citizen acted as a secret agent of the People's Republic of China against the United States here in the Northern District of California."

Former Cathay Pacific staff who said they were fired for supporting Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protesters accused bosses on Monday of carrying out a “Cultural revolution” style political purge.

The Hong Kong-based airline has had a torrid few weeks after Chinese state media and authorities blasted the company because some of its 27,000 employees had taken part in — or were sympathetic to — anti-government protesters.

At least 10 people died from drug overdoses in just 26 hours in Ohio's most populous county, according to the county coroner. Franklin County Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz, who issues periodic alerts on overdose deaths, called this an "unusually high number" of deaths in a statement on Facebook Sunday. Ortiz urged those who use drugs to test substances for fentanyl, the powerful synthetic opioid often sold as a street drug. "At this time we know fentanyl can be mixed in to cocaine and methamphetamine," she wrote. "These can be deadly combinations for those who are using." Ortiz also suggested that friends and family of drug users to carry naloxone, also known as Narcan, which is used to counter the effects of an opioid overdose. 😱☠️

(WARNING 21+) On August 14, 2019, around 5:50 p.m., uniformed officers assigned to Pacific Patrol Division responded to a radio call of a screaming man at Thornton Court and Pacific Avenue. Upon arriving at the location, the officers encountered the suspect, John Penny, who was initially armed with a glass bottle. Penny refused to drop the bottle and approached officers. The officers deployed a taser, however it appears the darts did not strike Penny. Penny then armed himself with a three-foot-long wooden plank and again approached the officers, which resulted in an Officer-Involved- Shooting. A female protester was subdued by a group of police officers. She was slapped and forced to keep quiet by one of the police officers. Her screams are heard in the video.

Before shooting live ammo, Riot police dashed towards the protesters with pistol in their hands.

A police then fired at one protester who collapsed immediately. Another protester tried to rescue the wounded protester but was subdued by a riot police. Riot police continued to aim at other people on site.

The victim of the gunshot screamed "my chest is in pain, I need to go to the hospital!"

Disturbing video shows Canadian 'Antifa' demonstrators blocking an elderly woman's path and screaming 'Nazi scum' in her face as she tries to enter a rally for a right wing opposition party.

Two three-year-old girls were found dead in a car in the backyard of a home they were visiting in Georgia, police have confirmed. Twins Raelynn and Payton Keyes were discovered inside the vehicle by their caregiver in Griffin Park, Hinesville shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday, WTOC reported. Emergency services were then called to the Augusta Way home, and, shortly after, medics declared the toddlers dead. An official cause of death has not yet been revealed for the two girls, pending an autopsy report, but temperatures had reached around 92 degrees Fahrenheit that afternoon. 😱
