— Made the small business tax deduction permanent
— Farmers can now deduct 100% of equipment costs in the first year

POTUS: "Thanks to our trade deals, you're now sending over $40B in American soybeans to China... American soybeans are now being shipped to China in record amounts."

POTUS: "To further help farmers recovering from the Biden catastrophe, we used money taken from tariffs...we gave you $12B in farm relief...I'm also asking Congress to quickly pass the new Farm Bill. And today, I'm promising to request additional farm relief for our great patriots in the next funding bill."

New Jersey vegetable farmer Joel Viereck thanks POTUS for standing up for the American farmer: "We appreciate the bridge payments, your policy on trade — everything, it's going to help strengthen what we do."

POTUS: "We had a ridiculous Washington restriction — the so-called 'Diesel Exhaust Fluid' requirement... Today, we're announcing new guidelines drastically limiting these ridiculous DEF rules, saving farmers and consumers billions and billions of dollars."

"To help lower gasoline prices for farmers and consumers, this week, I issued an emergency order to allow immediate sales of E-15 — and just as I promised in the campaign, I'm seeking Congressional action to allow E-15 all-year-round."

"I'm pleased to announce that the SBA is opening up massive new loan guarantees to farmers and food suppliers."

POTUS announces an update to the renewable fuel standards for 2026-2027:

"We'll now be requiring the highest volumes of renewable fuels in history... these new standards will generate over $10B of rural economic benefit, create an estimated 100,000 new jobs..."

Pennsylvania rancher Michael Cliver: "The work that you guys have done, it’s unexplainable how big it is for the American farmer, and the next generation that don’t have to headache, and don’t have to worry about the Death Tax... It’s absolutely spectacular."

NEW: Caltrans crews installed gates on the 101 Freeway on and off-ramps at Los Angeles Street ahead of this weekend’s No Kings protest in downtown.

A Caltrans spokesperson said the “proactive safety measure” was requested from the California Highway Patrol after demonstrators walked onto the freeway during previous protests.
A CHP spokesperson said the gates will be used as needed and that officers will coordinate with Caltrans before closing the freeway ramps.

Some color on who is & isn't being paid in ICE & CBP via the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Most of ICE & CBP are funded through 2029 via the OBBB and operations won't be impacted if they aren't funded through appropriations, for now.

All frontline law enforcement is being paid. The ICE, Border Patrol, and CBP agents we see in the field are all getting paid via OBBB. 

HOWEVER... their professional and civilian support staff are NOT being paid. These are people who work the computers, the public affairs offices, and other support staff who aren't on the front line making immigration arrests, but are supporting the agents who are.

These civilian support staffers haven't been paid for almost half of the last six months when you factor in the prior shutdown last fall. They feel left behind - and feel they have no light at the end of the tunnel with this Senate bill leaving CBP & ICE unfunded through appropriations. They would have to hope GOP could take care of them in a future reconciliation bill, or that more funds could be moved around to pay them.

These are some texts I've gotten from these staffers...

CBP support employee: 

"The senate bill paid TSA but thousands of CBP & ICE professional staff will not be paid.   The last paid work day for me was February 13.  Now senate on paid vacation until April 13 that is a guarantee for 2 months no pay.  Very likely we won’t be paid until May if Johnson lets the bill pass."

ICE civilian employee:

"I have a huge favor. When you guys report on the fact that ICE is funded through OB3 funds, can you please make it known that support staff (i.e. mission support, OPA, etc.) is NOT getting paid?"

HSI civilian employee:
 
"We civilians are not getting paid, I'm working with my mom in the hospital and not getting paid. This is all so frustrating...sorry bill for venting!"

BREAKING: President Trump tells colleague Jacqui Heinrich in a call that the Senate bill that passed in the overnight hours to fund all of DHS except CBP & ICE “wasn’t appropriate.”

“Well, it wasn't good. It wasn't appropriate,” Trump told Jacqui. “Now what they should do is they should terminate the filibuster, Jacqui, and just vote, but you have three or four Republicans in there that are not doing the right thing. You can't have a bill that's not going to fund - in my opinion, you can't have a bill that’s not going to fund ICE. You can't have a bill that's not going to fund any form of law enforcement, of which ICE is a big form, and so is Border Patrol.”
