On Sunday, February 22, 2026, the Public Safety Cadets community suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Dunwoody, Georgia Police Major William β€œRusty” Furman. Rusty was not only an exceptional leader and mentor for the PSC but also a cherished friend. His passing after a courageous battle with cancer has left everyone at PSC heartbroken.

Major Furman dedicated 28 years to law enforcement, serving the Marietta and Cobb County Police Departments in Georgia before becoming one of the original members of the Dunwoody Police Department. In a press release, Dunwoody Police Chief Mike Carlson shared, β€œMajor Furman was an exceptional leader, a devoted public servant, and a deeply respected member of our department family. He fought his illness with the same courage he showed every day in uniform, and he will never be forgotten.”

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of red and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

California sheriff and governor hopeful Chad Bianco has a message for the state's public school employees faced with the current legal requirement to allow biological males to compete in girls' sports and to enable gender transitions for minors without parental knowledge.

I sat down with Chad for a wide-ranging interview about California sports issues, including concerns over the 2028 LA Olympics and the state's ongoing Title IX lawsuit against the Trump administration, and how he would tackle those issues as governor.

BREAKING: Deporting illegal aliens makes the American people safer.

Today’s court decision allowing US Treasury to share IRS data with ICE is a crucial victory for President Trump’s agenda to Make America Safe Again. It also reaffirms a simple truth: laws set by Congress must be enforced, not undermined by activist judges.

Our TheJusticeDept attorneys will continue fighting and WINNING for POTUS.

Please, pray for the Phoenix Police officer who was shot in the line of duty last night.πŸ™πŸ»

Arizona: Just after 8 p.m., Phoenix police were called to the area near 19th Avenue and Broadway Road for a report of a man pointing a gun at his daughters.
When officers arrived, they were directed to the suspect, who was located across the street at a park.

Officials say the man began to leave the area on a bicycle, and officers followed him through the neighborhood.
The man reportedly rode a short distance, then got off the bicycle and ran toward a residence.
Officials say officers used "less-lethal" tools to stop him, but it did not work.

At this time, a second officer attempted to apprehend the man from behind by using bodily force. Officials say the officer and the man fell forward to the ground, causing the man's gun to fire, striking both of them.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. His name has not been released.

The officer was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

MAYOR MAMDANI: β€œSo I've seen videos of kids throwing snowballs at members of the NYPD in Washington Square Park.”

β€œAnd first, I want to say that officers have been on the front line of helping our city respond to this blizzard.”

β€œThe only person in our city's workforce who deserves to be treated with a snowball is me.”

…

REPORTER: β€œThe head of the PBA says that the people who were involved in attacking the police officers should be charged criminally with assault on a police officer. I wonder if you agree with that, if those people can be identified?”

MAYOR MAMDANI: β€œYeah, I don't from the videos that I've seen, it looks like a snowball fight.”
