The police chief of a small village in Stanly County is to thank for ending a multi-county chase that started in Charlotte.

Misenheimer Police Chief Markus Lambert deployed spike strips to pop the suspect's tires.

Lambert is one of 5 people on the Misenheimer police force.

The suspect in this chase was Darryl Joseph Jr. Court documents say he is accused of beating a woman in a parking lot in the Belmont neighborhood. When CMPD responded and called out Joseph for having a gun in the front passenger seat, court documents say he took off.

Joseph faced Judge Nathaniel Knust today in Cabarrus County. Knust ordered him held without bond. He has an extensive criminal history.

COP'S HAIR SET ON FIRE: The Village of Sebring Ohio Police state that a Woman was arrested After Violent attack. One police officer was injured and a man dead, according to police. Officers and EMS crews responded to a home after a 911 caller reported concerns about his wife. When first responders arrived, police say the woman was yelling at her husband to make them leave, threatening to have her dogs attack if they didn’t. A sergeant arrived to negotiate, and the woman eventually agreed to allow only EMS inside the home. Once inside, authorities say the situation escalated. According to the police report, the woman had cigarettes and a lighter near an oxygen tank and allegedly threatened to blow up the house with everyone inside if officers did not leave. Police then entered the home to detain her. Investigators say she became combative, kicking and punching officers and EMS personnel, and at one point allegedly set an officer’s hair on fire with a lighter. The flames were quickly extinguished, and the officer was not injured. During the incident, police say the woman’s husband left the room, went into a bedroom, and shot himself. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Court records show the woman is facing multiple felony charges, including aggravated arson, having weapons under disability, assault on a police officer, assault on an EMS worker, and aggravated menacing.

Colorado: Suspect apprehended after officers dragged by vehicle

27-year-old Wesley Norton has been arrested in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 3 just after 2 a.m. near West 88th Avenue and Huron Street.

Thornton Police officers contacted an occupied suspicious vehicle parked at a gas station that did not have license plates. When the suspect provided false identification and was asked to exit the vehicle, he instead started the car and ignored officers’ commands to stop.

As he drove away, two police officers were dragged several yards. One officer suffered minor injuries, while the other sustained significant injuries and is believed to have been run over by the vehicle and bitten by the suspect.

BREAKING: At least 2 dead, 1 injured after shooting at South Carolina State University.

"South Carolina State University officials on Thursday, Feb.12, 2026, asked the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to investigate a shooting on campus that left two people dead and one wounded.

The university issued a campus lockdown at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday following a shooting report in an apartment at the Hugine Suites student residential complex. SLED investigators are on site and actively investigating.

University officials have not yet confirmed the victims’ identities or the condition of the wounded person.

The campus remains on lockdown. The university’s Department of Public Safety is assisted by the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety and the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office in patrolling on and around the campus.

Friday classes have been canceled. Counselors are available to students."
