THOMAS COOK went into administration overnight after days of panic for customers and employees. Now 150,000 tourists are stranded abroad and a further 450,000 customers have had their holidays, flights and tours cancelled.

The firm confirmed in a statement that it would enter liquidation with "immediate effect" this morning, after it began operating in 1841.

Three-year-old Texas toddler dies after his parents accidentally left him in a hot car after his older brother's tee ball game. Liam Ordoñez, 3, from San Antonio was found dead inside a car after his family left him there. His family had arrived back home from a t-ball game with their two sons in the early afternoon. 'This really was just a case of parents who just got distracted,' San Antonio Police Lt. Jesse Salame said to the San Antonio Express-News. 'They discovered him unresponsive in the vehicle, pulled him out and began life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.' Salame said the entire situation was a 'horrific tragedy,' because both parents believed the other had taken the child out of the car. Temperatures in San Antonio on Saturday reached a high of 93 degrees Fahrenheit.

British Muslims are launching their first ever pride festival at a time when the community is ‘under attack more than ever’. The festival hopes to celebrate what it means to be LGTBQI and Muslim and how they do ‘not have to choose’ between both identities. LGBTQI charity Imaan is putting on the event to mark the 20 years it’s spent supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans Muslims.
