Stephanie Westby, 47, has been charged with murder after she fatally shot her husband Joseph Westby, 51, at their home in Camas, Washington on Sunday night. Westby faced court for the first time on Tuesday where her lawyers argued that she feared for her life when she shot her husband. Police said they interviewed the couple's two teenage children who allegedly told them that their parents had been having marital issues the started around May. They said their mother had asked them to leave the house prior to the shooting.

Tense scenes erupted after a violent criminal was shot dead by police on a New York street with a crowd of people filmed hurling profanity-laden insults at officers and screaming for them to die. The Navy says spectacular footage released in 2017 that appears to show 'unexplained aerial phenomena' is authentic, but that the footage was never meant to be made public. The clips were first published by The New York Times in December of that year and were recorded by Department of Defense officials on two separate occasions.
