A 27-year-old female Hawaiʻi Island police officer is in guarded condition at Hilo Benioff Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning, October 26, 2025. The four-year veteran of the department was assisting a stranded motorist near the intersection of Kekuanaoa Street and Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo when the incident occurred.

At approximately 5:33 a.m., police responded to a report of a traffic collision. The investigation determined that a 2023 Subaru Forester, traveling east on Kekuanaoa Street, allegedly struck the officer. At the time, she was helping a motorist with a stalled vehicle located in the westbound left-turn lane.

The officer sustained head injuries and rib fractures and was transported to the hospital, where she remains in guarded condition.

An illegal alien from Mexico is facing significant charges following a vicious assault on a law enforcement officer in Florida this week.

On Monday, a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper conducted a traffic stop for an improperly displayed tag in Hillsborough County.

The trooper learned a male passenger in the vehicle was illegally present in the U.S. and prepared to detain him.
Leonardo Gomez Hernandez, 40, resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot.

The trooper deployed his taser, but Gomez Hernandez continued to fight back, punching and choking the officer.

I was filming a shooting investigation yesterday off Winnetka near Roscoe where the road was completely blocked off. An alleged drunk driver drove through the scene and almost hit multiple LAPD officers and a suspect in cuffs! As they are taking the driver into custody for DUI a second car drove past officers and thought the tape and drove into the active scene and happened to stop just in time.
