Corrections officers walk one of the toughest beats in law enforcement — and on May 2, that danger became reality at Wallens Ridge State Prison in Wise County, Virginia.

Six gang-affiliated inmates brutally attacked three Virginia Department of Corrections officers, stabbing two multiple times and assaulting a third. This week, a Wise County Grand Jury returned 66 felony indictments, including attempted aggravated murder, aggravated malicious wounding, conspiracy, gang participation, and possession of illegal weapons by prisoners.

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares and Commonwealth’s Attorney Brett Hall emphasized what these indictments mean: accountability for violent offenders and justice for the officers who put their lives on the line.

Lakeville, Minnesota: On September 6, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Lakeville Police responded to a report of a helicopter crash in an area west of Airlake Airport. Officers located the downed aircraft west of Highview Avenue, near 219th Street West.

Responding officers, along with members of the Lakeville Fire Department, determined there did not appear to be any survivors of the crash. The crash site is located in a non-residential, non-commercial area, and there is no indication of any impacted individuals beyond those onboard the aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and will be responding to the scene. These agencies will lead the investigation. Information regarding the cause of the crash, details about the aircraft, the number of occupants and other related information will be released by those agencies following their preliminary investigation.

The identity of any deceased individuals will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.

Texas: A Montgomery County constable deputy was hospitalized after being dragged by a vehicle while executing a search warrant.

Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable's Office reports authorities were conducting an investigation in the 29100 block of I-45.

A constable deputy tried to make contact with a man, now identified as 37-year-old Daniel Matthew, in his vehicle who they believed was connected to the investigation. The suspect did not cooperate with the deputy after he made multiple requests for him to get out of his vehicle.

According to authorities, the constable deputy tried to physically remove Irwin from the vehicle, but he became combative. The suspect put his truck in drive and sped away, briefly dragging the deputy, Montgomery County Constable Gable reports.

The deputy was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands for minor injuries.

Prayers for the two LAPD police officers who were hurt in the line of duty this afternoon.🙏🏻

An LAPD OFFICER transported to hospital after being exposed to an unknown substance during what appeared to be a traffic stop at a Van Nuys Blvd McDonalds. Police detained a man at the scene. The Officer was rushed to Northridge Hospital in stable condition.
