NEW: In a court filing, DOJ tells the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that a quota of 3,000 ICE arrests per day doesn’t exist.

DOJ says ICE has never been directed to meet a quota, and that this claim began with media reporting about Stephen Miller setting a “goal” that the Trump administration was “looking to set”, however, it was never policy, and “no such directive has been issued to or by DHS or ICE”.

This case is part of the Trump administration’s appeal to the 9th Circuit after Los Angeles federal judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong blocked DHS from carrying out controversial immigration operations in seven Southern California counties, including sweeps at Home Depot, car washes, etc.
