North Carolina: The Charlotte City Council decided to remove Tesla from the list of manufacturers it can purchase electric vehicles from during Monday's meeting.

The Council will continue with the purchase and replacement of 45 electric vehicles in its fleet. Council member LaWana Mayfield has been pushing to remove the company since the June 9 meeting, due to the company's "instability."

"Let's be objective here, the reason this has been isolated out of this long list is political," Driggs said. "It has to do with the owner, the majority owner of the Tesla company."

The 6-3 vote came after some heated discussion. Mayfield disagreed with Councilman Ed Driggs' claims that her push was politically motivated."

Latest: The Vice Mayor of Cudahy hasn’t responded to our questions. Federal officials are investigating a video where she tells gang members to “defend their territory” from ICE agents.

On June 19, Vail Police Officer Stephen Williams was severely injured when a truck struck his motorcycle on I-70 during his commute to work. While his helmet and protective clothing likely saved his life, Williams sustained serious internal injuries as well as multiple broken bones and fractures.

Officer Williams has served the residents and guests of Vail for close to 6 years. He is facing a long recovery and his family needs support.
