🇮🇳INDIA'S FINANCE MINISTRY TO FACE PARLIAMENTARY QUESTIONS ON CRYPTO ON SEPTEMBER 16
Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) is scheduled to appear before Parliament’s Standing Committee on Finance to discuss Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs).
The committee is working on a report called “A Study on Virtual Digital Assets and Way Forward.”
The discussion could focus on 3 major issues:
-> Who should regulate crypto in India?
-> How should different crypto assets be legally classified?
-> How can India bring the huge offshore trading activity back under its tax and AML rules?
The September 16 meeting does not mean a new crypto law will be announced that day.
But it could give a major signal about where India’s crypto policy is heading next.
