The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to stop the Trump administration from enforcing its ban on bump stock devices, which allow semi-automatic weapons to fire like machine guns. Gun rights groups had asked the court Monday to temporarily keep the government from enforcing the ban - which took effect Tuesday. Chief Justice John Roberts declined one request for the court to take up the case on Tuesday and a second and final request was declined by the court on Thursday.

A Cabinet minister has warned that a general election is 'the last thing the country needs right now' as Britain is gripped by Brexit protests following Theresa May's failure to pass her deal on Friday.
