A group of teenagers came to the rescue of an eight-year-old boy as he fell from a chairlift at a Vancouver ski resort in Canada. Video shows the eight-year-old dangling from the side of a chairlift on Grouse Mountain some 25-feet in the air, holding onto his father, after he slipped. One of the teenagers, 14-year-old James Macdonald, said he didn't think the boy could hold on for very long, but his quick-thinking saved the boy from serious injury.π±βοΈβοΈ

US-backed forces declared the battle for Baghouz in eastern Syria 'will be over soon' as they resumed their shelling of the town after evacuating thousands of women and children (pictured: bombardments explode, left and top right; inset left a Kurd dashes for cover and bottom right a Humvee rolls into position). The SDF forces have made painstaking progress to ensure the safety of women and children who the extremists have been cowering behind in their final days. Bombs rained down on the horizon as the siege entered its last violent passage. A 'fierce battle' is expected as the jihadists will deploy suicide bombers and fight to the death in a network of caves and tunnels beneath the town.π±π

The large Indian elephant in Tamil Nadu, India, approaches a checkpoint barrier. It pushes it down gently with its tusks and uses its feet to keep it flattened as it steps over it. Male elephants often use brute force in these situations but this bull opted for a gentler method. Once the bar reaches a comfortable height, he crosses over and continues on his way.ππ€£

A Colorado motorist caught the dramatic moment when an avalanche rolled off a mountain and over the highway ahead of him. Jacob Easton and his father were driving along Colorado's Interstate 70, between Frisco and Copper Mountain, Sunday when they suddenly spotted a 'big white cloud' of snow up ahead of them, Easton told KDVR. Easton said he started recording a video of the avalanche about two miles before Copper Mountain. In the video, which Easton posted on Instagram, the avalanche can clearly be seen, gaining speed, on the left as they're driving. 'Holy s**!' one of the two men exclaims. 'That's not going to come down here is it?' 'No, it is that is,' the other says. π±βοΈβοΈ
