Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman (left) was convicted on Tuesday for being the figurehead of an international cocaine smuggling conspiracy, and will now likely may spend the rest of his life in America's most secure prison - ADX Florence in Colorado (centre). Widely known as Supermax, or 'Alcatraz of the Rockies,' the facility opened in 1994 and holds 400-plus inmates inside specially designed 'control units' that function as prisons within prisons. Inmates in these units are confined to single-person cells for up to 23 hours a day, depriving them of virtually all contact with the outside world. It's already home to some of the nation's most notorious crooks including Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (inset left), Unabomber Ted Kaczynski (inset centre), and 1993 World Trade Center bomb mastermind Ramzi Yousef (inset right). 👮🏻‍♂️

After Tuesday's guilty verdict, the Justice Department released never-before-seen footage of El Chapo touching down on US soil following his 2017 arrest.
