Two dead, including gunman, after he 'shot his ER doctor ex-fiance SIX TIMES in Chicago hospital parking lot and then continued shooting inside, critically injuring a police officer'

Four people total were shot at Mercy Hospital on the city's South Side on Monday afternoon. The 32-year-old gunman is among the dead. Authorities said shots were fired inside and outside of the hospital between 3pm and 3.30pm. Witnesses said the gunman was talking to a woman in the hospital parking lot who was wearing scrubs. He then suddenly pulled out a gun and shot her three times in the chest before shooting her three more times after she fell to the ground. The gunman then entered the hospital and fired 32 rounds. 'Once he entered, he just started shooting at random,' one witness said . 'It looked like he was turning and pointing at people at random.' The gunman died inside the hospital. It remains unknown if he was shot by an officer or died of a self-inflicted gunshot.
