A hydroponic cannabis set-up has been found inside a Sydney building which caught fire on Monday morning.
The blaze broke out just before 4.30am in a building close to Sydney Airport, causing huge traffic delays for travellers heading to catch a flight.
Firefighters initially believed the massive fire had been fueled by luxury cars parked on a lower level, which included a Mercedes, a BMW and a red Ferrari among others, but quickly discovered that had not been the case,The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Fire Inspector Brad Smith said fire crews arrived to find 'flames coming out of the building', with crews sent in to battle the blaze from inside.
When the flames were extinguished, firefighters discovered the hydroponic cannabis set-up.

Desperate club-goers stampeded towards the exit of Sevilla Nightclub in Riverside, California, when shots were heard, witnesses said.
In a statement, police said a further five people arrived at hospitals in the area to get treatment for gunshot injuries they received during the shooting at the club.
Police say none of the victims' wounds are life-threatening.
Riverside Police said they have launched an attempted murder investigation.

The investigation is being handled by the department's robbery-homicide and gang intelligence units.

A police spokesman said the investigation is ongoing and no other details are available.
