SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Military officials are working to recover high powered explosives that vanished from a Southern California installation, according to ABC 10News' sources with close military ties. The explosives disappeared from the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base, and now a reward is being offered for their discovery, sources told ABC 10News. Sources report that approximately 10 pounds of Composition C-4 disappeared during a long training exercise two weeks ago. They also believe the manufactured plastic explosives may have been stolen. The unit's commanding officer is considering extending the training exercise until the explosives are found, sources said. They also confirm the commanding officer messaged subordinate commands about a monetary reward for any information leading to the discovery of the C-4.

Sun Valley โ€” There were no serious reported injuries after a Los Angeles Police Department cruiser with two officers collided with a truck carrying a family of four in Sun Valley Tuesday night. According to LAPD, the crash happened at about 10:20 p.m. on Lankershim Boulevard, just north of Tuxford Street, when the officers were responding to a call for backup. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the crash and said all six people were complaining of minor pain, but none were taken to area hospitals. The crash did knock down a power line and appeared to cut power to at least one building. Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews were on the scene. It was not immediately known when Lankershim would reopen.

Newschopper4 was over the chase around 11:20 p.m., with the car moving at slow speeds of 5-15 mph. The car was moving at extremely slow speeds in a residential neighborhood until it came to a stop at the entrance to a driveway. As a standoff was brewing, the driver's side front door popped open and a man fell out of the front seat onto the ground. The driver did not appear to be moving and was possibly unconscious. Soon after, deputies moved in and took the man into custody. It was not immediately clear what led to the pursuit.

WASHINGTON, D.C.โ€”In honor of the impeachment hearings beginning this week, the Capitol Building has been decorated to look like a giant circus tent. As soon as congressional maintenance staff heard that the impeachment hearings were going to begin, they went into storage and got out "the Big Top," also used during the Kavanaugh hearings last year. "We keep the Big Top on hand for certain situations," said one staff member. "Usually these big inquisition-style trials, that kind of thing. They're great entertainment. And the kids love the monkeys." Congressional vendors will be selling peanuts, popcorn, programs, and those big foam fingers to enhance viewers' experience. Rep. Adam Schiff was furious with the changes, saying they make a mockery out of a serious show trial. "These are serious proceedings, and we will not have them mocked!" Schiff cried, wearing a clown nose, riding an elephant, and juggling fourteen flaming bowling pins. (Read more.)
