The National Rifle Association on Friday filed petitions with a U.S. bankruptcy court seeking protection from creditors by restructuring, the gun rights advocacy group announced. The NRA filed the Chapter 11 petitions in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Dallas, it said in a news release. The NRA said it would restructure as a Texas nonprofit to exit what it said was a "a corrupt political and regulatory environment in New York" state, where it is currently registered. The influential group said in a statement there would be no immediate changes to its operations or workforce, and that it "will continue with the forward advancement of the enterprise – confronting anti-Second Amendment activities, promoting firearm safety and training, and advancing public programs across the United States." The Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit is looking to identify the individuals, depicted in the following surveillance video excerpts, as part of an ongoing investigation into the Homicide by Shooting of a 25-year-old male, that occurred on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, at about 6:56 PM, in the 3000 block of W. Jefferson Street.
The male victim, who was walking his dog, was approached by two individuals. During an apparent robbery one of the individuals points a handgun at the victim and then both suspects start reaching towards the victim's pants pockets before the victim is shot one time in his chest. Both suspects fled on foot westbound on Jefferson and then southbound on 31st Street.

FRANKFORT, KY - Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear, has announced they will be increasing the security around the Kentucky State Capitol grounds. There will be an increased presence of Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Police and the Kentucky National Guard at the Ky. Capitol. Brig. Gen. Haldane (Hal) B. Lamberton, Adjutant General of the Kentucky National Guard stated that the use of the National Guard has been approved. Acting Commissioner Lt. Col. Phillip Burnett Jr. of the Kentucky State Police said, “In order to protect all citizens, the Kentucky State Police provides security at the state Capitol. KSP has not received any requests or notifications of a rally. However, precautions have been put in place to ensure the safety of both the public and state buildings, and will be adjusted as needed,” Lt. Col. Burnett said. “In an effort to minimize the potential of an extreme event, Capitol grounds will be closed on Sunday.”

Justice Department prosecutors have formally walked back their assertion in a court filing that said Capitol rioters sought to "capture and assassinate elected officials."
