NEW ORLEANS, LA – The city that’s known as The Big Easy is currently facing some big problems after the mass exodus of more than 100 law enforcement officers. Now, city officials are scrambling to make up for the drastic loss in officers with a citizen task force. Previously, Law Enforcement Today provided exclusive reporting on the high rate of officers leaving the New Orleans Police Department. An anonymous officer with the department divulged that local officials have attempted to ignore policing issues, causing scores of officers to leave the NOPD: “They want to minimize everything and, kind of, push it under the table and wish that it never resurfaces. The last I heard, we got about a little over 100 officers leaving.” Later, the LET informant stated that the department’s recruitment efforts cannot keep up with the departure of officers. MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. - A small North Carolina town is mourning after one of its police officers became the first to die in the line of duty. Mount Holly Officer Tyler Herndon, 25, was killed at a car wash Friday in a shootout with a burglary suspect. Mount Holly Mayor Bryan Hough sobbed as he asked for the community to pray for the fallen officer, the Gaston Gazette reported. Herndon responded to the Mount Holly Car Wash at 3:30 a.m. Friday with two other officers. Police charged Joshua Tyler Funk, 24, of Mount Holly, with first degree murder in the officer’s death. Funk suffered minor injuries, police said. He was treated at a hospital and released. He was jailed without bail. #RIP

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – For the first time in history, the United Arab Emirates allowed a public celebration of Hanukkah, something unheard of in a Muslim country until recently. The reason they allowed the public display is said to be because of the historic peace deal brokered by President Trump’s administration between Israel and UAE. Before the peace deal, the public display of a Jewish holiday would have been barred from happening in the country. And yet, not only did the very public display happen in the Muslim Country, it was held in front of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. The country allowed for a large menorah to be erected in front of the building. The 12 foot metal structure was constructed locally and will remain there for the eight nights of the Jewish holiday. President Trump should be a shoe-in for the Nobel Peace Prize. This is unprecedented and absolutely huge. 🕎
An oil tanker off Saudi Arabia's port city of Jiddah suffered an explosion early Monday after being hit by "an external source," a shipping company said, suggesting another vessel has come under attack off the kingdom amid its yearslong war in Yemen. The Singapore-flagged BW Rhine saw all 22 sailors on board escape without injury, the BW Group said in a statement. The company warned it was possible some oil leaked out from the site of the blast. Saudi Arabia did not immediately acknowledge the blast, which struck off a crucial port and distribution center for its oil trade. However, it comes after a mine attack last month that damaged a tanker off Saudi Arabia that authorities blamed on Yemen's Houthi rebels. The United Kingdom Marine Trade Operations, an organization under Britain's royal navy, urged ships in the area to exercise caution and said investigations were ongoing. Dryad Global, a maritime intelligence firm, also reported the blast. No one immediately offered a cause. (Read more.)

On Saturday, militia activists marched to the GA State Capitol where they joined forces with Trump supporters holding a "Stop the Steal" rally. The militia groups included Chris Hill's GA-based "III% Security Force" and Eric Braden's TX-based "Southern Patriot Council." Atlanta Antifa mocked the right-wing side from behind a line of Georgia State Troopers. "[III%SF leader] Chris Hill, where you at my man? We wanna see! Get an OnlyFans, we will subscribe to it!" "Come on over and share it, pussy!" After some commotion, the rallies dispersed. When the militia groups returned to the parking garage they marched in from, they discovered their vehicles had been tampered with and tires popped. They attempted some repairs/replacements and filed a police report before leaving.

LONDON, UK. Anti-vaxxer protesters have massed in London amid angry scenes as it was confirmed the capital will be put into Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions. The ill-timed march was organised by StandUp X, using the encrypted Telegram messaging service favoured by IS extremists. (@police_frequency editor: LOL WHAT?) Over 16,500 people are supporters of the group and scenes at Parliament Square showed crowds being met by police. At 12.30 it became clear demonstrators were not complying with Government guidance or their own risk assessment, which was put in place to keep everyone safe and stop the spread of Coronavirus. A total of 11 arrests have been made following a gathering in Parliament Square, in breach of Health Protection Regulations, during which a number of individuals became violent, Met Police reported.
