A restaurant owner in San Francisco leapt into action to save her daughter and two-year-old grandson after an irate customer threw hand sanitizer at her family while waiting on a takeout order Friday. Doris Campos boasts serving customers at Panchita's Pupuseria & Restaurant for more than 30 years but asserted that she had never been attacked physically until that Friday ordeal. 'For my family, for my daughter, for my grandson. I had to do whatever I had to do in that moment. I don't have a choice,' Campos said.

LAPD Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved #Shooting that occurred in Hollywood Division. On October 18, 2020, around 9:50 p.m., Fullerton Police Department personnel were in the area of 5500 Melrose Avenue looking for a sexual assault of a minor suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Bryan Gudiel Barrios. They requested the assistance of LAPD officers, who were enroute, when they attempted to detain Barrios. Barrios was armed with a knife and began to stab himself. Fullerton Police Department personnel utilized a TASER, which was ineffective and Barrios ran east on Melrose Avenue toward the Windsor Boulevard entrance of Paramount Studios. LAPD Hollywood Division patrol officers arrived and followed Barrios on to the studio lot, where less-lethal projectiles were used and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred. (Read the full story.)

Rep.-elect Troy Nehls, a Texas sheriff and newly elected congressman, is in Washington preaching a message of "mutual respect" as America grapples with racial unrest, criminal justice reforms and efforts to dismantle police departments. Nehls, who has served as sheriff of Fort Bend County for the last eight years, said his 22nd Congressional District outside of Houston should be a model for the rest of the country on how to build positive police and community relationships that are "colorblind." While other cities are still reeling from BLM protests after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Nehls said his community didn't experience civil unrest because law enforcement is respected in Fort Bend.
Meanwhile, in UK. This suspect is in some deep doo-doo. A passenger of a stolen car tried to make a clean getaway – but he ended up “neck-deep” in a pit of manure, Sussex police in the UK said on Facebook. “Thanks to determined officers a rescue ensued, and they all ended up safe, but covered in cow poo,” the department added, along with a poop emoji. Making matters worse for the hapless man, his feculent pants were pulled down a little during his escapade, partially revealing his underwear as he stood cuffed in front of an officer.
