A new video captures a shootout between an armed carjacker and an off-duty cop in Brooklyn early Wednesday. The surveillance footage, obtained by The Post, shows the unknown carjacker stroll over the officer’s white sedan from across the street at the intersection of E. 87th Street and Foster Avenue in Canarsie. The two appear to have words as the thief approaches the driver’s side window and the car slowly drives into the intersection, according to the clip. The carjacker then appears to pull a gun as the off-duty cop swerves along the crosswalk, the video shows. The gunman continues to walk up to the car with his gun drawn. The cop gets out of the car at first before going back into his car, appears to grab his gun and opens fire, the video shows. The gunman fired one shot, but it missed the off-duty cop, NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said at a press conference Wednesday.
