NYPD Detectives provides a preliminary update into this morning's police involved shooting with an armed subject in Brooklyn.

The officer pulled away and exited his car, at which point the suspect shot at him. The officer returned fire, striking him in the chest. The suspect was removed to an area hospital, where he remains in serious condition. The officer was removed to a separate area hospital to be evaluated. These are the two firearms that were recovered from the subject at the scene of the shooting. #NYPD
