ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - The Russell Fischer Xpress car wash in Huntington Beach is transforming into the "Tunnel of Terror OC" for the month of October to help people celebrate Halloween. The scary car wash experience runs Thursdays to Saturdays through the end of October. Opening night was Thursday, October 15. The price is $20 per car, no matter how many people are in the car. "It's Southern California's first, I think, haunted car wash that we're putting together. No one's doing it. I want to give back to the community and save Halloween because of everything going on so it's like why not do something like this for the community," said Long Vo, who is the Marketing Coordinator for the event. People who came for Opening Night described the haunted house as "terrifying" and a "great way to celebrate Halloween." The car wash team hired real actors for the Tunnel of Terror OC. The car wash is located on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. 🎃

Sheriff’s oversight commission calls on Villanueva to resign over his management of the agency. Escalating its war of words with Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, the county’s Civilian Oversight Commission on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution condemning the sheriff’s leadership of his department and calling for his immediate resignation. The commission had originally planned to adopt a resolution that blasted Villanueva’s administration, accusing him of failing to cooperate with the oversight panel and vowing to hold him accountable if he continued to “facilitate dysfunction” in the agency. But during its discussion, commission members first considered amending the document to make it a “no confidence” vote, then went even further by demanding his resignation. The panel amended the document to conclude that it has “lost confidence in Sheriff Villanueva’s ability to effectively govern the sheriff’s department. He should resign immediately.” Commission Chair Lael Rubin made the initial call to add a resignation demand, telling her colleagues, “I don’t think he [Villanueva] has any intention of making anything better.” She noted that some members of the panel individually called on the sheriff to step down last month. Other commission members joined her in the call for Villanueva to resign. Commissioner Priscilla Ocen said that to simply pass a resolution saying the panel had “grave concerns” would be an “understatement.” She accused Villanueva of engaging in “lies” and “cover-ups,” and of exacerbating problems in the agency through “his willingness to defend indefensible actions by deputies.” Villanueva has repeatedly dismissed criticism from the commission, calling its members political pawns of the county Board of Supervisors, with whom the sheriff has repeatedly clashed on budget and other issues. The sheriff on Wednesday said the county should have an “elected oversight commission,” saying the current makeup of the panel is “political appointees” of the board, “and they act like it.”

Thailand's government arrested several prominent protest leaders and announced a ban on gatherings of more than five people under an emergency decree aimed at quelling pro-democracy demonstrations that have gripped the country for more than three months.

NORTH LAS VEGAS — The North Las Vegas Police Department announced Thursday the department has been awarded $60,000 from the Office of Traffic Safety. The award is for the department’s “Pedestrian Safety, Education and Awareness Traffic Safety Program.” The goal of the program is provide the public with “innovative educational information about pedestrian safety to decrease pedestrian fatalities.” #NLVPD officials say they will use the money to team up with other area law enforcement for numerous pedestrian-focused events through September 2021.

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Colts closed their practice facility after “several individuals” tested positive for COVID-19, the team said Friday. The Colts wrote on Twitter that the team will work remotely. “This morning, we were informed that several individuals within our organization have tested positive for COVID-19. The team is currently in the process of confirming those tests,” the Colts said. “In the meantime, the practice facility will be closed and the team will work remotely while following NFL protocols.” The Colts are scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Atlanta Falcons closed their facility Thursday following a second positive test for COVID-19, the Tennessee Titans played Tuesday following a 16-day layoff because of an outbreak, and the New England Patriots have twice had their original Week 5 matchup against Denver postponed following four positive coronavirus tests by players. They’re set to play Sunday.
