Four people have been arrested for arson for deliberately starting blazes along the West Coast including one man who livestreamed the encounter on social media as the death toll from the devastating wildfires climbed to 29 and Oregon officials warned they are preparing for a 'mass fatality event'. Two men in Washington state, one man in Oregon and one woman in California are facing arson charges for setting fires in areas that were already grappling with deadly blazes. At least 20 have now been killed in California, eight in Oregon and one in Washington state as thousands of firefighters struggle to bring the blazes under control and the governors of California and Oregon told residents to expect more fatalities in the coming days. #californiafires #oregonfires

This morning, across the country, from L.A. to New York, many walked for one purpose—to help end suicide.
During these tough times, it’s especially important to remind people—you’re never alone. If you need help, talk to someone. There’s always hope.

NYPD Officer and NRA member Walter Weaver was last seen on the 6th floor of the North Tower physically extracting people from a jammed elevator. Those he rescued identified him by his picture. He didn't stop to save himself.
His warped and twisted Smith & Wesson Model 642 was found in the rubble of the collapsed towers. It was his backup gun. Traced by serial number, Officer Weaver's stainless .38 special was returned to his family who donated it to the NRA National Firearms Museum where it is today.

On #NationalPoliceWomanDay, #LASD celebrates & honors the countless sacrifices & dedication of the women in law enforcement who take time away from being a daughter, a mother, a wife, & a friend, to contribute to the safety of the communities they serve. Thank you!

Guns of Ground Zero
When the towers fell on 9-11-2001 there were actually a lot of guns in the WTC complex buildings. US Customs had an office in WTC6 and of course, the buildings were full of NYPD and other agency Officers who were responding. For many, their gun is the last physical token of their life which survived the destruction. Some of the guns are at the NRA Museum in Virginia and some are at the September 11th Memorial Museum in New York. As always, the guns will tell us a story if we can find out how to listen.
