ROCHESTER N.Y. -- The scene in Rochester has become violent on Saturday night amid protests over the death of Daniel Prude. Fireworks have been set off, objects thrown at law enforcement, fires started, and property destroyed. Police fired pepper balls and tear gas at protesters night after police say they refused to leave and acted aggressively. Eleven individuals were arrested and three law enforcement officers were hospitalized at the Daniel Prude protest. Police declared the protest an “unlawful assembly" following a peaceful gathering at Martin Luther King Jr. Park earlier in the evening. The Rochester Police Department says it saw crowds upwards of 2,000 people walking throughout the city's downtown area.

Body Cam Video Shows What Led Up To #Shooting Of Man By Cook County Sheriff’s Police On Southwest Side. A man who was shot and wounded by Cook County Sheriff’s police this week was armed, and officers had to use a Taser to subdue him even after he had been shot, authorities said. The Cook County Sheriff’s office worked quickly to release a 30-second video of the incident, only 19 hours after it happened. Just before 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, a sheriff’s police officer was on patrol in unincorporated Cook County near Stickney, where Cook County Sheriff’s police are the primary police agency. San Bernardino police released body camera footage showing two officers as they fired 15 shots at a man carrying a fake handgun. Anthony Armenta, 21, died at a hospital following the June 13 incident. Two officers had originally responded to a report of a man with a gun just before 8:30 p.m. outside the Exxon station at the corner of Date Street and Del Rosa Avenue, according to the Police Department. “Somebody got a gun,” the caller states in dispatch audio included in Friday’s release. “He’s waving it outside, and the lady is scared that’s working in there.” The responding officers spotted a man matching the caller’s description holding what looked to them like a black handgun. More than 200 people were rescued by helicopters overnight into early Sunday after they got trapped by the raging Creek Fire near Mammoth Pool Reservoir northeast of Fresno, California. The people got trapped at the reservoir at the Sierra National Forest as the rapid-spreading wildfire cut off the only escape route and they were advised to shelter in place, meaning jump into the water to avoid the flames. On Sunday Blackhawk helicopters and at least one Chinook flew to rescue the people surrounded by the blaze and took them to the National Guard base at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport. A total of 207 people were airlifted from the Mammoth Pool area to Fresno, Forest Service spokesman Daniel Tune said to KSEE. At least 20 people were injured in the blaze, some of them critically. Two people stayed behind, refusing to be evacuated.

A Leon County grand jury decided not to indict any Tallahassee Police Department officers involved in three separate fatal #shootings of suspects — bringing an end to high drama that surrounded their deliberations all week. Grand jurors found that police officers acted lawfully and were justified in their use of lethal force in the shootings of Mychael Johnson, Tony McDade and Wilbon Woodard. On Friday, the panel issued reports on the shootings while the city released an edited assortment of evidence, dash cam and body camera video of them. TPD Chief Lawrence Revell thanked the grand jury in a news release for its service.
