Just a reminder: If people on the political left truly cared about poverty, most of their rhetoric would be vehemently against single mother homes and mass immigration. Instead, they never discuss the former, and are strongly in favor of the latter.
Right now in Portland. Police declared a riot and warned of tear gas being used, 36minutes after the mayor (also the police commissioner) had to leave the due to the effects of tear gas. A riot was declared in Portland just after midnight Thursday morning after Mayor Ted Wheeler’s tense visit with protesters-- where he was booed, told to resign, given a list of demands and tear-gassed by federal agents. His visit ended with his security detail engaging in a struggle with protesters late Wednesday night as they worked to get the mayor to safety. As Wheeler left, a few protesters following him tried to push against his security team once he had entered a building. Others threw water bottles and other projectiles at the glass door.
Denver police union president Nick Rogers said Wednesday that a “stand-down order” was in place when anti-cop demonstrators descended on a Back the Blue event Sunday afternoon, resulting in a violent clash with police supporters. Nick Rogers, president of the Denver Police Protective Association (DPPA), revealed the stand-down order during an interview on the "Peter Boyles Show" on 710 KNUS. Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, who was at the pro-cop rally and also on the show, described accused police of not stepping down as the chaos unfolded.Rogers, who was not actually at the rally, said that after investigating what happened, he discovered that a stand-down order was given by the incident commander. He said that one lieutenant refused to follow that order and kept his officers at the rally. Asked by Boyles exactly who gave the order, Rogers refused to reveal the name.

Police highlight one man wearing black pants and a black T-shirt who then pulls out a gun and holds it in his right hand. A few moments later, the man opens fire, as another suspect behind him appears to pull out a weapon and fire off a few rounds. The shooting was part of another bloody weekend in Chicago that left a total of 10 people dead from gun violence and 60 wounded – including 10 minors. #Shooting in Bronx
Two Hells Angels and a member of Satan's Soldiers have been charged with the murder of 51-year-old father whose assassination was caught on surveillance camera in May. Video showed Francisco Rosado being gunned down in the parking lot of a Bronx, New York property where he held a role as a building super. On Tuesday, Frank 'Loose Cannon' Tatulli, 58; Anthony Destefano, 27, and Sayanon Thongthwath, 29, were arrested and on Wednesday they were arraigned. The gang members were charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession in the killing of Rosado, who was head of the Pagans Motorcycle Club's Bronx chapter. In January, several shots were reportedly fired at the new Hells Angels headquarters in the Bronx. However its unknown whether Rosado's killing was connected to that incident. Two of the defendants belong to Hells Angels but Destefano is a member of the Satan's Soldiers biker gang.

China launched a rover to Mars on Thursday, a journey coinciding with a similar US mission as the powers take their rivalry into deep space. The two countries are taking advantage of a period when Earth and Mars are favourably aligned for a short journey, with the US spacecraft due to lift off on July 30. The Chinese mission is named Tianwen-1 ("Questions to Heaven") -- a nod to a classical poem that has verses about the cosmos. The mission includes a Mars orbiter, a lander and a rover that will study the planet's soil. The five-tonne Tianwen-1 will arrive in the Red Planet's orbit in February 2021 after a seven-month, 34 million-mile voyage, and deploy the rover to Mars three months later in May.
