The man has taken nearly 20 hostages in Ukraine. Shots were reported at the scene. Police identified the gunman as 44-year-old Maksym Kryvosh. They found social media posts purportedly written by Kryvosh demanding that senior Ukrainian officials publish statements saying that they were terrorists. He also threatened to detonate another bomb in a crowded area. The suspect reportedly called the police himself after taking control of the bus and introduced himself as Maksim Plokhoy. The deputy interior minister said there is a book online titled "Philosophy of a criminal" which was authored by Maksim Plokhoy and describes a man's experience in prison. The word "plokhoy" translated from Russian means "bad."

Portland moms and dads marched in droves Monday night, joining downtown protesters in a demonstration that would later swell overnight amid escalating tensions with feds in the city, according to multiple reports. On the 54th night of demonstrations, the group of parents dressed in yellow and orange marched from the downtown Waterfront to the Justice Center. They reportedly set off to meet up and protect protesters who they said had been gassed or injured by federal officers. Just before midnight, the unrest began to swell as protesters were seen knocking and coming close to the courthouse building, which resulted in federal officers setting off smoke gas. Police would later acknowledge that federal law enforcement deployed CS gas, also known as tear gas, and advised people to avoid the area of SW 3rd and SW Main. They reported people were throwing projectiles and some were armed with clubs, hammers, and other weapons.

When her refrigerator broke and she didn’t have the money to fix it, she called the cops to see if they could help. It turns out, they could. Cheryl Nanartonis, from Jensen Beach, Fla., called 911 to ask for help with her fridge. When officers arrived, they informed her that 911 is meant for emergencies only. Fortunately for her, they also decided to see what they could do to help her. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office posted about the incident on Facebook, writing, “Cheryl Nanartonis believed she was in crisis, her refrigerator broke down and her food was going to spoil. She said her resources were limited and she didn’t have the funds to buy a replacement. So Cheryl called 911. Although 911 is reserved for emergencies only, deputies were dispatched to Cheryl’s Jensen Beach home. They explained to Cheryl the importance of reserving 911 for emergencies only. But that’s not all.”

Meanwhile, in Ukraine. Footage has emerged showing the terrifying moment terrorist Maxim Krovishey took control of the bus in the center of Lutsk, a city 250 miles west of Kiev, earlier today. Krovishey has spoken by mobile to relatives of those trapped on the bus urging them to call journalists to spread his demands or face the vehicle being blown up.The terrorist threw a grenade from a bus. Anton Herashchenko, deputy interior minister, made clear that the case is being treated as 'terrorism'. One bomb was destroyed by law enforcement officers.

Seattle police released body camera footage Tuesday revealing how protesters threw projectiles, including bottles, traffic cones and fireworks, at officers in front of the West Precinct over the weekend. As a result, 12 officers were injured. "We are relating this video in an attempt to be transparent and will continue to released videos of significant incidents," the Seattle Police Department said. What started out as a peaceful protest Sunday against police brutality, quickly turned violent in the afternoon, as a group of demonstrators carrying baseball bats began breaking windows and tagging buildings with paint, police said in a statement.
