I can do without Starbucks.
I can do without Nike shoes.
I can do without Hollywood.
And I can do without the athletes..
and all sporting events who disrespect our flag.
But I cannot imagine my life without the safety of our Police Officers.
We’ve GOT to be LOUD..
and back the BLUE.
This video was recorded by a citizen who witnessed the incident. At approximately 7:31 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, Officer T. Morris and Officer W. Burnett – both of First Precinct – responded to a call for a female who was hanging from the eighth floor ledge of the Bank of America parking garage, located at 1110 E. Cary Street. Upon arrival, Officers Morris and Burnett observed a security guard for Bank of America, grabbing the female – attempting to keep her from falling. At that time, the female was stating that she wanted to die. Officers Morris and Burnett talked to the female until they were able to gain control of her arms and legs, and safely pull her back into the parking garage. The female was then transported and treated at a local hospital on a paperless Emergency Custody Order (ECO). Her family is now making arrangements to get her the help she needs.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT! The U.S. Marshals Service is investigating after a protester was badly injured this weekend at a demonstration outside the Portland federal courthouse, the city’s mayor said. Ted Wheeler, the Democrat, announced on Twitter late Sunday that he spoke with U.S. Attorney Bill Williams and learned that the agency will be “conducting a full investigation.” He said the incident "should not have happened. Graphic video of the aftermath of the incident circulated online that showed a young man bleeding profusely from the mouth and nose. Oregon Public Broadcasting reported that the protester, Donavan LaBella, was struck in the head by what his friends described as an impact munition. Oregonlive reported that he suffered skull fractures and needed surgery.
The Washington Redskins, one of the NFL's oldest franchises, will get rid of its name on Monday, according to multiple reports. USA Today, ESPN, The Washington Post, Washington Times and Sports Business Journal reported Sunday night that owner Dan Snyder is set to “retire” the name. Washington won’t announce its new name because trademark issues are still pending. However, the “thorough review” of the name is officially over because the team wanted to “remove any doubts as to the future of the name,” Sports Business Journal, citing sources. It’s unclear when a new name will be revealed for the team. The team launched the review of the name July 3 after prominent sponsors FedEx, Nike, PepsiCo and Bank of America asked the team to change the name. The sponsors' concern grew after weeks of national protests following George Floyd's death in Minneapolis police custody on May 25. #FACEPALM

A 1-year-old boy and three men were shot at a cookout outside a Brooklyn park on Sunday night, law enforcement sources said. The four victims were wounded when a shooter, possibly in a passing vehicle, opened fire in their direction at about 11:35 p.m. near the Raymond Bush Playground on Madison Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant, sources said. The baby was hit in the stomach and taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he is expected to survive. The three men, ages 27, 35, and 36, were also hospitalized and expected to survive, sources and police said. They were shot in the ankle, groin and leg, respectively. The quadruple shooting capped off another bloody weekend in the Big Apple where at least 23 people were shot since midday Saturday. Among the victims were two boys, ages 12 and 15, who were wounded in separate shootings in Brooklyn and Harlem earlier Sunday night.
The first federal execution in 17 years is set to go ahead on Monday after a U.S. appeals court overturned a lower court injunction, saying a lawsuit by the victims' family that had put the execution on hold had no legal standing. Daniel Lewis Lee was convicted in the killing of three members of an Arkansas family in 1996. But some relatives of his victims opposed him receiving the death sentence. He is due to be put to death by lethal injection at the U.S. Justice Department's execution chamber in Terre Haute, Indiana. His execution had been blocked on Friday by a federal judge after some of the victims' relatives sued, saying they feared that attending could expose them to COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
