An earthquake in northern Oklahoma on Saturday night rattled the entire state, including in Tulsa just after President Trump finished his return to the campaign trail before thousands of supporters. The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 4.2 earthquake happened at 10:15 p.m. near Perry, roughly 80 miles west of Tulsa. The temblor was about 4.8 miles deep, with impacts being felt around the state. Residents in Stillwater, Enid, Ponca City, and Oklahoma City all reported shaking. Thousands of earthquakes have been recorded in Oklahoma in recent years, with many linked to the underground injection of wastewater from oil and gas production. Regulators have directed producers to close some injection wells.

A terror suspect accused of stabbing three people to death and seriously injuring three others in an attack in Reading is believed to be a Libyan asylum seeker called Khairi Saadallah, who has previously been to prison in the UK. The 25-year-old has previously been jailed for minor non-terror related offences. The suspect's identity was today revealed as counter-terrorism police declared yesterday's attack in Reading as a 'terrorist incident'. Counter-terrorism police will take over the investigation after the frenzied knife attack in Forbury Gardens, in the centre of the Berkshire town. This morning Deputy Assistant Commissioner Dean Haydon, Senior National Coordinator for the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) network, announced the attack is to be declared a 'terrorist incident'. They will take over the investigation from Thames Valley Police. Police are considering mental health to be a major factor, according to security sources, the Press Association reports.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper advocated for the removal Confederate statues around Raleigh and has said that now is the time to finally act. “If the legislature had repealed their 2015 law that puts up legal roadblocks to removal we could have avoided the dangerous incidents of last night,” Cooper said Friday. The 2015 law Cooper referred to bars removal of the memorials without permission of a state historical commission, but Cooper, a Democrat, said the law creates an exception for public safety emergencies. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest, a Republican, criticized Cooper for letting things get so out of hand and accused him of shifting blame. “While Gov. Cooper shifted blame when our cities were looted and buildings were damaged, he has no excuses this time. Last night’s destruction occurred on state property, right next to his office. It is clear that Gov. Cooper is either incapable of upholding law and order, or worse, encouraging this behavior.”

Florida authorities are seeking the individuals who used an interstate overpass to stage a mock lynching with a mannequin in a police uniform and pig mask, according to reports. Deputies pulled down the mannequin Saturday morning after responding to the overpass on I-95 in Jacksonville for a possible suicide. They found “KKK” scrawled on it, KHQ-TV reported. The manequin also had NYPD patches. The mock lynching of a law enforcement officer was “extremely disturbing,” Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said on Facebook. “Both the tactics and props used were a deliberate attempt to exasperate an anti-police sentiment and drive a divide in our community,” he said. "This incident was carried out by people wanting to undermine our dedicated efforts to keep our city safe." Mayor Lenny Curry tweeted that he wouldn’t let “an appalling and disturbing act like this derail our progress.”
