A drunken suspect who was carrying two knives is accused of biting off part of a Tennessee police officer's pinkie finger during his arrest. The officer's finger could not be surgically repaired, authorities said. The suspect, identified as Alex Jessee, 36, of Virginia, faces multiple charges after police said he bit multiple officers, resisted arrest, and used a stun gun on one of them. Kingsport, Tenn., police responded at 6:40 p.m. Saturday to a call about an intoxicated person at an apartment complex, where they found Jessee sweating, acting erratically, and speaking in “incoherent thoughts". Residents told police the suspect had been wandering around the apartment complex and got aggressive when they asked him what he was doing. During questioning, Jessee became aggressive and began resisting arrest. The suspect later managed to take a stun gun away from the other officer, before using it on them, police said. He then bit that officer in one of his arms.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), along with other law enforcement officials in Minneapolis, released photos Tuesday of several people suspected of being involved in arson attacks during protests in the wake of George Floyd's death. Authorities are asking for help in identifying the individuals possibly involved in vandalism, looting and arson. “Progress has been steady in the Minneapolis fire investigations, and we are at a point where we need help identifying people,” Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jeff Reed, of the ATF's St. Paul Field Division, said in a statement. The ATF has said it is working with the FBI, the St. Paul Police Department, the Minneapolis Police Department and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division to investigate fires throughout the Twin Cities. The bureau urges anyone with information related to looting or arson to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigations.

BELLEVILLE, Michigan -- Dashcam footage shows a Michigan State Police trooper pulling an unconscious driver out of a burning pickup truck on eastbound I-94 Tuesday morning. Officers were dispatched to the area of I-94 and Haggerty Road near Belleville in Wayne County at around 6:15 a.m. for a car and attached boat engulfed in flames. Troopers found the driver, a 63-year-old male, slumped over the steering wheel unconscious. An officer attempted to break the passenger side window using his baton, having to then use his hands to push the window in due to tints on the front windows, sustaining cuts to his arms and hands. The officer then pulled the unconscious driver from the truck and took him to the grassy median. Medics arrived at the scene and treated the man for low blood sugar and the trooper for the cuts along his arms. A Springfield police officer was seriously injured after he was intentionally struck in front of police headquarters Tuesday morning. Officers were notified of a white male at the front entrance of the Springfield Police Headquarters at 321 East Chestnut Expressway, causing a disturbance and urinating on the front door. After the man was asked to leave, he then got into a white SUV, drove away, then circled back through the parking lot, heading toward the front entrance. He then accelerated directly toward Officer Mark Priebe, who was standing in front of the building. Priebe attempted to get out of the way, but the driver intentionally struck the officer, trapping him under the vehicle. A second officer yelled at the driver to stop and get out of the vehicle, the officer fired shots striking the suspect and stopping the vehicle. Both Priebe, a 21-year veteran of the Springfield Police Department, and the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jon Tyler Franklin Routh, were transported to a local hospital.
